Shengal Autonomous Administration: Iraqi government is creating chaos in Shengal

Azad Hussein, Vice co-chairmanship of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of Shengal, and in a special statement to ANHA’s agency, and in response to Fouad Hussein's statements, he referred to the Iraqi government's argument in building the wall on the Shengal border is unfounded, and said: They call for standing up to smuggling operations. ISIS infiltrated through Shengal, but since the liberation of Shingal until now, the only area devoid of ISIS cells is Shingal in all of Iraq.

He stressed, "The construction of the wall aims to prevent the relationship between Rojava and Shengal and prevent the relationship between the Yazidis in both parts of Kurdistan.

Azad Hussein confirmed that the Autonomous Administration in Shengal and thanks to the Yazidis’ resistance, the Iraqi flag was raised in Shengal, and otherwise the flag would not have been raised, after the brutal ISIS attack in 2014, "We saw how the Iraqi army handed Shengal to ISIS, and how the Kurdistan Democratic Party forces fled from it, but we We defended Shengal, but the Iraqi government did not consider this to be a defense of Iraqi territory.

Regarding the accusations made by the Iraqi Foreign Minister to the PKK, Azad Hussein called on the Iraqi government to learn more about the history of the Yazidis and the extermination campaigns (firmans), which they were exposed to, and he asked her, "For all these years and during 74 Firms, did the PKK exist, and did its ideology exist?

He added, "Of course, those who rushed to the aid of the Yazidis, what cannot be denied, are the PKK fighters who fought with the Yazidis against ISIS, but we also say that whoever creates chaos in Shengal is the Iraqi army that wants to enter by force and fight the Yazidi forces.

On the 18th and 19th of this April, Iraqi army forces attacked checkpoints and points of the Shengal Resistance Units and Asayîşa Êzidxanê to impose their control over them, which prompted the Yazidi forces to defend and resist, forcing the Iraqi army to retreat from its step.

This came in conjunction with the joint attack launched by the Turkish occupation and the PDK forces on the legitimate defense areas.

Regarding this, Azad Hussein said, "The Iraqi government is under great pressure from Turkey and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and this is the cause of the crisis in Shengal, so the Iraqi government must bear responsibility for what happens in Shengal, and it is primarily responsible for it."
