Silivri prison guards threaten to kill prisoners

Ibrahim Danger, who is detained in the Seventh Model (L) Prison in Silivri, spoke to his family on the 13th of April, about the pressure and repression they are subjected to.

Shahnaz Denger, the mother of the prisoner Ibrahim Denger, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison, and has been in prison for four years, stated that her son told them: "Prison guards threaten them with death, and they practice injustice in prisons, and that they do not get enough bread, and they do not take them out for Practicing sports, telling them obscene words and putting pressure, oppression and torture on them, and that another person was killed as a result of torture, like Farhan Yilmaz.”

Shahnaz Denger continued, "Other prisoners also spoke about these methods and violations, as the two prisoners, Murat Akin and Matin Omran, who are detained in the seventh prison in Silivri, went on a hunger strike for ten days, since yesterday, Saturday, the 16th of April, in protest against the violations committed against them

It is worth noting that Farhan Yilmaz, who is detained in the Fifth Form L prison in Silivri, was transferred to the hospital, claiming that he had a heart attack by the Turkish authorities, and died on Sunday. The Ministry of Justice also claimed that the cause of Yilmaz's death was a "heart attack." Farhan Yilmaz's family and human rights organizations protested this, and that Farhan's body bears signs of torture, and that he was tortured to death.

In the Fifth Silivri Prison, on April 10, 60 guards raided the dormitory, at which time Farhan Yilmaz, who comes from Batman area, and many others were seriously injured, as some of these detainees were transferred to hospitals, while others were transferred to other prisons, in recent years the pressures have increased harassment, torture, and deaths in Turkish prisons.”
