Sheikh Hamad al Faraj decries the separation wall between Shengal, NE Syria

Yesterday, the sheikh of the Al-Walda clans, Sheikh Hamed Al-Faraj, joined a special program through ANHA’s agency, to talk about the wall separating Shengal and north and east Syria, which is being implemented by the Iraqi government, and the dangers of this wall, and the position of Arab tribes on it.

An apartheid Wall and the Arab clans stand against it

Sheikh Hamed Al-Faraj began his speech by saying: "The Iraqi regime and those with it are building this wall in response to foreign agendas known to everyone, and the Arab clans have a clear position against this wall because we call it a racial separation wall that separates the components of the region, and this is something that the clans never accept and we from the beginning we denied it."

He added, "The Iraqi army is not an elite army, and it does not express all Iraqis and follows its allegiance to well-known agendas as well, which drive it, and they want to create disputes and problems between the components within Iraq and transfer them to areas inside Syria, and this is what we will not accept."

We support the demonstrations, and we will demonstrate, too

Regarding the demonstrations that took place in Shengal against this wall, Sheikh Hamed said: "We support the demonstrations against this wall and we will also demonstrate against it and we will never accept it. We are not separated by borders, all these borders are artificial, so that there are no natural barriers. The Apartheid Wall this is like the wall between north and east Syria and Turkey, as if it is an extension of the Turkish wall and an implementation of a Turkish Erdogan agenda that wanted to isolate northern Syria from northern Iraq.

Dirty Turkish Agenda

Regarding the goal, Sheikh Hamed Al-Faraj said: "Unfortunately, they are implementing the agendas of other countries. The Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government KRG must be aware of what they are doing and that they are committing a crime against our region and our geography in Syria and Iraq, and this we will never accept, and they are implementing a dirty Turkish agenda and even North Almost all of Syria has become part of a barrier between us and Turkey. Basically, the lands behind the wall are our lands, and they are Syrian lands."

Sheikh Hamid Al-Faraj questioned the interest of both Baghdad and Erdogan in this, saying: "If Turkey does anything against our regions, it is a historical enemy. As for the government of Iraq and the Kurdistan region, why this action? For Turkey and Erdogan to be satisfied with you?!!! With everything we can, this wall is rejected, because there are people in Syria and Iraq who are against this wall, and we are always with our brothers in Iraq and the Kurdistan region to remove this wall, which we must call an apartheid wall.”

Sheikh Hamed Al-Faraj stressed that "the experience of the Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria AANES is a distinctive and ideal experience for the whole region." He wondered why they want to make this wall? So that this experiment does not transfer to neighboring countries, and this is a mistake, they should benefit from this pioneering democratic experiment and consider it the first in the region, and it depends on the cooperation of all components, as if they want to surround this experiment from all directions so that it does not spread, but they will not be able to close the space. And no matter how much they set up ground fortifications and others, our thought will spread everywhere, and this pioneering experiment will spread to all regions.”

Regarding the position of the Baghdad and Hewler governments on the Turkish plans, Sheikh Hamed Al-Faraj said: "Why is this disregard by the Baghdad and Kurdistan region about what Turkey is doing? We hear daily about Turkish bombing of areas in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and they do not even protest against that. Is it Failure in front of the Turks, or do they want to implement these agendas."

At the end of his speech, Sheikh Hamed Al-Faraj sent a message to the Arab clans, saying: "In the name of the Al-Walda clans in Syria and Iraq, I call on all the clans in Syria, Shengal and Iraq in general, to stand against this wall and destroy it at all costs.
