Member of Defense Committee of Leader: Isolation is torture violation

 leader Abdullah Ocalan has been detained as part of the strict isolation regime in Imrali prison since 1999.

 The last phone call with him took place more than a year ago, with his brother Mehmet Ocalan, which lasted only a few minutes, and was then cut off by the fascist Turkish state.  This has not received any news or information about his situation since then.

 A member of the defense team of leader Ocalan, jurist Khaled Omar, explained that the Turkish state's prohibition of disclosing any information about the status of leader Ocalan is a violation in itself, and he continued, "The strict isolation is now far from all existing laws related to the rights of the leader."

 Khaled Omar also mentioned that the reason for launching the international conspiracy against the leader Ocalan is to prevent the solution of the Kurdish Cause, and said, "The Committee against Torture revealed in its last report that there is torture being carried out in Imrali, but it did not take any action to end this torture and violations.  Isolation in itself is torture.”

 Khaled Omar also referred, during his speech, to Nowruz 2022, saying: "In Nowruz 2022, the people went out to the squares and called for the realization of the physical freedom of Leader Apo. This is because this people sees their freedom linked to the physical freedom of Leader Abo."

 A member of the Defense Committee of Leader Abo, Lawyer Khaled Omar, concluded his speech by saying: "The emergence of a leader like Leader Apo is an opportunity that may not be repeated. History does not give peoples personalities like Leader Abdullah Ocalan every day."
