Turkish occupation proceeds to construct settlements in occupied Afrin

With the support of Kuwaiti organizations, Turkish occupation continues to build settlements in occupied Afrin , within ongoing demographic change in the city.

As a part of the ongoing efforts to change the demography of Afrin city, the Kuwaiti association of the “White Hands” has announced the start of the second stage of the settlement dubbed “Basma Village” on Tuesday, March 29 in Shadireh Yazidi village in Sherawa district, occupied canton of Afrin.

During the second stage eight residential blocks with 125 apartment in them are planed to established, as well as starting construction of new 6 other units.

In May 2021, the so-called “White Hands" and Palestine 48” association launched the Basma settlement village project with the support and funding of Qatar, Kuwait and Palestinian associations, to build a new village called “Basma” in Shadireh village in Shirawa district, containing 12 housing units for settlement of Palestinians and settlers from various Syrian regions.
