DAA in Jazira announces the start of Newroz celebrations for 2022

The co-chairs of the Executive and Legislative Councils of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) in the Jazira region participated in the press conference, along with members of the Qamishlo and Hasaka district councils, and the Kongra Star, while a number of them wore folkloric costumes.

During the press conference, a statement was made to the public opinion, read in Kurdish by the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration in the Jazira region, Talaat Younis, and in Arabic by the co-chair of the Hasaka canton, Samar Abdullah, during which the program of Newroz celebrations in 2022 was announced.

The statement reads:

This year comes the Newroz holiday, which inspires hope and optimism and fuels the spirit of resistance and determination to progress and build. Newroz is the feast of to move forward in the spirit of Newroz resistance until freedom, justice and democracy are achieved. We are determined to resist until the liberation of our occupied territories. In Afrin, Serêkaniyê/ Ras al-Ain and Girê Spî/ Tal Abyed, and ending the occupation, terrorism and tyranny throughout Syria and the region.

We celebrate Newroz this year under the slogan. With the will of the peoples, we will make Newroz 2022 the freedom of the leader Abo.

On Tuesday, we announce the start of the Newroz celebrations for this year by lighting the Newroz torch and we announce the program of celebrations, where the celebrations will be organized in each of the following areas in the Jazira region (Qamishlo, Hasaka, Amuda, Ad-Darbasiyah, Tal Tamr, Tirbespiyê, Girkê Legê, Dêrik), where all the celebrations begin. At ten in the morning the programs will continue until three in the afternoon.

We congratulate all our people on the occasion of Newroz holidays, and we call for active participation in the celebrations of Newroz in the spirit of Newroz of resistance and freedom.

Then, the Newroz torch 2022 was lit by the audience, in front of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration building in the Jazira region.
