Department of FR criticizes attempts of ICRC to politicize humanitarian support for Al-Hasakah

 The AANES's Department of Foreign Relations issued a statement in this regard, saying: "Within the context of the events in Hasaka, and in the face of the campaign to counter attempts to reproduce ISIS terrorism again, we have seen a statement from the ICRC through the head of its mission in Syria, Mr. Christoph Martin.  Yesterday, Monday, January 24, about the events taking place in the city of Al-Hasakah as a result of the exposure of the Al-Sina'a prison to an attack by the terrorist organization ISIS, where there is an attempt to politicize humanitarian support and reduce aid to the parties associated with the Syrian regime.

 The International Committee of the Red Cross has forgotten the Autonomous Administration and its bodies and entities that have mobilized for five days to provide support and assistance to meet the needs of civilians from the residents of Al-Ghweran and Al-Zohour neighborhoods, which are adjacent to Al-Sina'a prison, despite the weak capabilities.

 The International Committee of the Red Cross, by politicizing the suffering of our people in Al-Hasakah as a result of the terrorist attack by ISIS to appease the regime in Damascus, is considered a violation of its principles that it adopted. This deliberate politicization of the tragedy does not serve the needy and those affected by the armed conflict.

 The AANES and all its security and military forces are committed to international humanitarian law, and its medical and relief teams were established to serve the needs of the Syrian people without discrimination and without politicizing the suffering of the people.
