Final statement of the campaign "Safe Return Without Occupation"

Statement to the public opinion
Launched by the Displaced Peoples Committee of Serekaniye / Ras Al-Ain.

Occasion: The 2nd Anniversary of the Occupation of Serekaniye / Ras al-Ain

The campaign coincided with the passage of two years of the occupation of the Turkish state and its affiliated armed factions (Syrian National Army) to the areas of Serekaniye / Ras al-Ain and Tal Abyad, where Turkey and its affiliated factions launched a blatant aggression on Syrian territory, on October 9^th , 2019 through a military operation called "The Peace Spring", and with the direct intervention of the Turkish army, it was not peace, but on the contrary, it left infrastructure destruction, forced displacement of hundreds of thousands of indigenous people from their homeland, and brought hundreds of settler families, and dozens of foreign families affiliated with ISIS, and settled them in the two cities in the process of changing demographic, and the operation left hundreds of missing and wounded civilians, in addition to dozens of prisoners, many of whom died under torture, not to mention the adoption of a policy of Turkification and an organized and artificial change in the historical demographic architecture of the region, in addition to the massive violations and crimes that are committed systematically to this day. before the while the international community are watching and doing nothing.

Campaign activities...

The activities of "Safe Return Without Occupation" continued for eight days in a row, according to the pre-set program of the committee.

First day: October 8^th 2021

A press conference was held from inside the (Washokani) camp, in the presence of the displaced and the media, with the aim of announcing the launch of the "Safe Return without Occupation" campaign, in addition to defining it and determining its goal.

- Reading an official statement to public opinion on behalf of the committee in Kurdish and Arabic on the second anniversary of the occupation, in the presence of the displaced persons from the camps and the media.

Announcing a campaign to start collecting signatures from the displaced within a maximum period of twenty days in order to send its results to international bodies with duly official charters and reports.

- Launching a hashtag denouncing the Turkish occupation of the city, and creating a special page for the committee on social medias.

The second day: October 9^th 2021

- Holding an extensive community dialogue seminar for the displaced inside the camps and shelters, attended by dozens in Serekaniye camp where the views and aspirations of the displaced were heard to work on pressure on international bodies to find a radical solution to the Syrian crisis and the return of the displaced to their homeland, as well as conveying the tragedies and suffering of our people to the opinion Global year under occupation.

Third day: October 10^th 2021

An extensive protest vigil was organized from inside the Serekaniye camp for the majority of the families of the martyrs, the wounded, the prisoners and the missing, and a statement was issued denouncing the occupation and the openness of the area, and the need to condemn the perpetrators and bring them to justice through local and international lawyers.

- Visiting dozens of families of martyrs, wounded, prisoners and missing persons in camps, shelters, cities and countryside.

Fourth day: October 11^th 2021

Delivering official protest notes in Arabic and English (paper and electronic) in the name of The Displaced Peoples Committee of Serekaniye / Ras Al-Ain to the following international bodies:

- The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Antonio Guterres.

- Mr. Anthony Blinken, US Secretary of State.

- The Central Command of the Coalition Forces against ISIS in Syria.

- Mr. Sergey Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister.

Fifth day:October 12^th 2021

- Holding a legal dialogue symposium of lawyers, jurists and judges from the displaced people of the city in Washokani camp, to discuss how to deal with the occupation and reject it by legal means in accordance with the laws in force globally, and work to convict the perpetrators and bring them to justice and start filing formal complaints and lawsuits, through a written statement issued by the assembled after the seminar.

Sixth day: October 13^th 2021

- Forming delegations to visit and coordinate with some of the official bodies of the Autonomous Administration in north and east Syria and the Jazira region, including "Labour and Social Affairs", to discuss how to improve the infrastructure of the camps and transfer the demands and opinions of the displaced to them in order to find effective solutions to those obstacles and problems until the safe return to the city of Serekaniye.

The seventh day: October 14^th 2021

- Carrying out a campaign of visits by delegations from the committee to the people and the original forcibly displaced people who are scattered in the camps, villages and schools to see their conditions and explain the latest developments and work together to put pressure and end the occupation, and end these crimes.

The eighth and final day: October 15^th 2021

- Holding an extensive dialogue seminar on the pain of emigration and its impact on women and children after the occupation, where all opinions confirmed that the demise of the effects of displacement depends on the demise and defeat of the occupation.

We are in The Displaced Peoples Committee of Serekaniye / Ras Al-Ain, and under its permanent slogan "We remain and we will return", we announce the end of the campaign, which began on the second anniversary of the occupation, and which lasted for eight consecutive days.

We reiterate to our displaced people that we continue to expand and enrich our activities and activities in all fields and at all levels, both internally and externally. committed and ongoing, ending the occupation and the safe return of our people without occupation or threat.
