22 local societies condemn seek by PDK forces to enter Shengal

22 unions and societies affiliated to the Movement for a Democratic Society, the TEV-DEM, issued a statement to the public opinion condemning the attempt by the Kurdistan Democratic Party, PDK to enter Shengal.

The statement that was read at the TEV-DEM office on Qamishlo ran as follows:

''the freedom movement sacrificed hundreds of martyr in Shengal just to protect Yazidis and inspite of all these sacrifices and liberation from ISIS and PDK mobilizes forces supported by the Turkish state to attack Shengal.

The conduct by the PDK forces in this way and at this time never serves the Kurdish Cause, rather it aims to appease its Turkish ally. Shengal witnesses a status of peace and security and it has its forces known as the Shengal Resistance Units, the YBS, and it depends on its people in its affairs.

The statement condemned the hostile actions by the PDK that aim to strike at the ganis made by the Yazidi community that faced atrocities and pains, calling on the party to refrain from these actions that merely serves enemies of the Kurdish people.

The statement concluded with a call to all democracy seeking peoples and all social Kurdish powers to bear responsibility towards policies of the PDK forces regarding the Kurdish society at large and the Yazidi community in particular.
