War-wounded in Kobani: EU, UN must protect peoples from Turkey's massacres

Today, the General Union of the War-Wounded in the Euphrates Region issued a statement to the public opinion in which it denounced the criminal acts by the Turkish occupation state against the Kurdish people and the peoples of northeastern Syria, and called on the European Union and the United Nations to abide by their treaties and obligations and to protect the peoples of the region from Turkish massacres.

The statement was read in the Free Women's Square in the center of the city of Kobani, in the presence of dozens of war-wounded, carrying pictures of victims children of the attacks and bombing of the Turkish occupation on northeastern Syria.

The participants also carried banners that read, "Enough of the genocide against the Kurds....the Kurds are no longer victims of knives."

The statement was read by Najm al-Shawakh, the Relations Officer in the War Wounded Union, and the text of the statement stated: "We, the War-Wounded Union in northern and eastern Syria, condemn the massacre of the Yazidi people of Sinjar at the hands of ISIS mercenaries, which constituted a stain on the world and on the forehead of the PDK fighters who fled in front of ISIS, on the 3rd of August 2014, thousands of girls, women and young men were killed and kidnapped by ISIS in front of their mothers and the world, and the fate of thousands of them is still unknown.

The statement added: "We witnessed how the Peshmerga left the people an easy target for the death gangs killing civilians despite the screams of the Yazidi women and children, and that the parties in southern Kurdistan, if they wanted to protect the Kurdish people, would be able to use their unit on the front lines to prevent the forman (73), but unfortunately no position emerged. united defensive ones, and we, as the wounded who were in the trenches, witnessed the heroism of our martyrs who fought until the last moment of their lives to save the people of Sinjar.

And the statement added: "The Turkish state used various types of internationally prohibited weapons in bombing the areas of northern Kurdistan, as well as occupying several areas in northern and eastern Syria, displacing their people, and its new attacks against the seven civilians of one family in an armed attack in Konya, central Turkey, on August 6th. , due to racist motives imbued with the Turkish regime's hatred of the Kurds."

In a similar incident, in a new and flagrant violation of the ceasefire in northern Syria, the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries committed a massacre against an entire family, as they bombed with tanks in the early morning hours of last Wednesday, the village of Al-Safawiyah, on the international road east of the Shirkrak silos, as a result of which 4 people from the same family lost their lives, while the mother and her sons were seriously injured and hospitalized.

Every time Turkey proves through its attacks, barbarism and barbaric colonial policies through the crimes it commits against the people and its attempts to empty the region and change its demographics, it is therefore necessary for the International Court of Human Rights to see this and to prosecute and punish the forces that commit crimes against humanity.

Turkey has become a threat to the lives of people in the region. If the international community does not take deterrent measures against Turkey, the people in Rojava and the entire region will lose their confidence in the United Nations or the European Union.

We, as a group of the wounded in the war, witnessed many attacks by the occupying Turkish state and its gangs, especially in Şengal, Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî, and today they launch brutal attacks on the mountains of Kurdistan. So their obligations to protect the peoples of the region from the Turkish massacres.
