'Turkish state actions mere continuation to Racial Extermination'

The first axis of the Dialogue Forum under the auspices of the Kurdistan Nationalist Congress-Rojava addressed policies adopted against Kurds in Kurdistan, dubbing actions in Afrin, Tal Abyad and Ras al-Ain and in Southern Kurdistan as sequel to the genocide practised by the Turkish state.

The activities of the Dialogue Forum began with a discussion on the first axis, which was focused on (the dangers of the Turkish occupation on Kurdistan historically), delivered by the Secretary-General of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Party P.D.K.S, Jamal Sheikh Baqi, and the administrative member of the Executive Body of the Kurdistan Nationalist Congress - Rojava, Abeer Hassaf.

The axis focused on the historical hostility of the Turkish occupation state to the Kurdish people and all the peoples of Kurdistan, starting from the Amasya Treaty, Qers Shirin Agreement and Lausanne until the present day.

Abeer Hassaf also touched on how some of the Kurds were used to cause rift and commit massacres against the Kurdish people, starting with the Sheikh Sa'id Revolution in the modern era, and to the present day.

She explained that the Turkish occupying state had exploited Islam in all its wars and continued to follow this approach, noting that after the Sykes- Picot Agreement 1916 and Lausanne by allied forces in World War I, Kurdistan was divided into four parts between the State of Iraq, Iran, Turkey and Syria.

The states that had occupied Kurdistan had suppressed the rights of Kurds, making demographic change in Kurdish areas, and the Kurds identity has been obliterated. In Iraq, and Southern Kurdistan has often been transformed into a war scene. In Iran, all modern - day Kurdish revolutions, led by Qadi Mohammed (Qazî Mihemed) revolution have been eliminated. In Syria, a repressive policy was implemented against the Kurds, starting with the Arab Belt law and denationalization of Kurds.

She noted that the Kurdish people had tasted the bitterness from the Turkish occupying state and committed the most terrible violations and massacres against Kurds, starting with the imposition of Turkish, the prohibition of the wearing Kurdish uniforms, the elimination of the Kurdish revolutions of Sheikh Said in 1925, the Dersim Revolution, after which more than 40,000 Kurds lost their lives and thousands were displaced. In 1970s, the Turkish state burned hundreds of Kurdish villages, and displaced thousands of them, not to mention the horrific massacres it committed.

For his part, Jamal Sheikh Baqi explained that the Kurdish people have a long history with the occupation, and to this day we suffer from the occupation, which they have in several ways and methods, including the military, mental, and economic occupation..

Some of the occupying states are exploiting some local forces to occupy an area, as had been done by the Turkish occupation in some areas of Syria, Iran in some areas of Iraq, and the countries that occupied Kurdistan through direct occupation, in order to plunder the good of Kurdistan and eliminate its geography and identity. The most egregious methods of occupation were being used in that regard.

He focused on the occupation at the present, particularly, Turkey's occupation of Afrin: "Afrin was occupied under the pretext of the presence of some terrorist forces. Who are these terrorists in the view of the Turkish occupation state, are the People's Protection Units, Women's Protection Units, or the Autonomous Administration terrorist forces,? these forces that were defeated terror in Rojava, and great sacrifices were made for the Kurdish people and the people of the region."

He noted: "Turkey is committing heinous massacres and violations against the people of Afrin, but we have not seen these violations in the rest of the areas occupied by Turkey, such as Idlib and others, and this is irrefutable evidence of Turkey's arrogance against the Kurds."

Sheikh Baqi stressed that the main goal is the extermination of the Kurds, and the recent attacks on Southern Kurdistan are aimed at the occupation, and all of its arguments and pretexts are incorrect, and the Kurds should realize this fact, and warned against cooperation with the occupying state.

After the interlocutors shed light on the policy practiced against the Kurds, the debate was opened to participants to express their views which touched upon that Kurdistan has been occupied since time immemorial. And what is being done in Kurdistan now is ethnic genocide, particularly after the Turkish Republic was founded on the skulls of Armenians, Syriacs and other peoples of the region.

The participants deplored non-participation by some Kurdish forces in Rojava in the forum, and the preparatory committee confirmed that it had sent invitations to all Kurdish forces and parties and personal invitations to the Kurdish National Council, but they did not attend the forum now.

The activities of the second axis are scheduled to begin after the afternoon break, which is (What is required of Kurds at this stage), and it will be delivered by the member of the co-chairman of the Democratic Union Party PYD, Fawza Yousef and lawyer Fadel Musa.
