Kongra Star in Hasakah canton made a statement to the public opinion, denouncing the attack carried out against the HDP headquarter in Izmir, and the assassination of party member Deniz Poyraz.

The statement was read in ad-Darbasiyah district by Avin Basho, Member of Kongra Star Coordination in Hasakah, with the participation of dozens of women, holding martyrs' pictures.

It stated, "Women are fighting the mentality imposed by the patriarchal authority within society to eliminate the role of women," stressing that women are rising up against this mentality to gain their freedom.

He added, "Throughout the ages, women fighters emerged and they were symbols of resistance and struggle at a time when patriarchal authority imposed itself on women by targeting them, being certain that the revolution led by women would prevail."

The statement clarified that the Turkish occupation state uses the most violent methods of killing and injustice against women every time, adding, "The targeting of HDP Member Deniz Poyraz is not a new event or a coincidence; rather, it is evidence of the continuation of the Turkish occupation state's brutality in targeting women to break their morale, which is revenge after its defeat in Metina, Avaşîn and Zap.

The statement continued, "Yesterday they were Hevrin, Hind, Saada, Zahra, Habboun and Amina, and before them Sakine, Fidan and Leyla in Paris, and today Deniz, in addition to Turkey's crimes against women in its areas of occupation, including kidnapping, murder, torture and rape, and in Turkey too, in addition to its continued targeting of female politicians, media professionals and intellectuals."

Kongra Star in Hasakah canton affirmed, "We are continuing our struggle and resistance for women's freedom and organization, and we call on the international community and the European Union to break their silence and stop the attacks launched by the Turkish occupying state."

The statement concluded with slogans that glorified martyrs and revived women's resistance.
