Today, 15th June marks the 106th anniversary of the Seyfo massacres perpetrated by the Ottoman State against the Assyrian Syriac, and its ancestors, the Turkish State, in 2019, after the occupation attacks on Serêkaniyê/ Ras-Al-Ain, attacked Syriac and Assyrian villages in the rural Tal Tamr, causing unthinkable devastation to many Assyrian villages.

The Syriac Military Council, under the banner of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), was therefore quick to defend the area and repulse Turkey's attacks and its mercenaries, which continue in the region.

In this regard, Hawar news agency ANHA met with the spokesman of the Syriac Military Council, Aram Hanna, who confirmed at the outset that Turkey, the Ottoman granddaughter, continues to pursue its ancestors' policies of massacres and displacement against Syriac people and the peoples of northeastern Syria.

Hanna said: "After the Turkish occupation attacks on north and east Syria, during which they occupied the towns of Serêkaniyê /Ras al-Ain and Tal-Abyed, to the outskirts of Tal- Tamr, at a time we had warned the International Coalition from Turkey's danger against the people of north and east Syria in general, Syriac and Assyrian in particular, due to Turkey has a long history in committing massacres against our people."

He added: " the occupied areas especially Syriac villages witnessed massive crimes from Serêkaniyê city to Tal-Tamr town, where many churches and civilians' homes were destroyed, However, the international community has remained silent about those crimes, as it ignored of Seyfo massacres that committed in 106 years ago."

Hanna stressed that the presence of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries in Serêkaniyê /Ras Al-Ain is a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian law, because they are systematically committing violations and crimes against the peoples of the region through demographic change and displacement: "We call upon the international community to refrain from its silence from the crimes committed by Ottoman and its ancestors and to work to end its occupation of Syria and to hold it accountable with its mercenaries for their crimes and massacres."
