​​​​​​​Tel Rifaat people: If we were at home, we would have perished in massacre

Yesterday, Tel Rifaat district of al-Shahba canton was bombed by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries several times via drones and artillery shells.

At 11:30, the occupation targeted with a drone the main street in Tel Rifaat district center, inflicting financial damage to civilian property. Hours later, it targeted the district center with artillery shells, where damage was limited to material.

In this regard, Hawar news agency monitored the opinions of a number of those affected and who were eyewitnesses to the Turkish occupation shelling of Tel Rifaat district.

With these words, Asia Sheikho expressed the brutality of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries against civilians.

Asia Sheikho, whose home was targeted by Turkish shells, said: "In the morning hours, a Turkish occupation's drone started hovering over Tel Rifaat, and when we heard the shelling on the district center, I rushed to secure my children in one of the basements near our house, and minutes later, our house was targeted with a shell."

In a voice filled with despair, she said, "We are fortunate that the house was empty, otherwise we would have perished in a massacre in the house."

In an angry tone, Asia said, "Why is the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries trying to eliminate the displaced people of Afrin in their places of displacement? She continued demanding to expel the occupation army from Afrin to return home as soon as possible.

At the end of her speech, she stressed her insistence on resistance and confrontation to the Turkish aggression until Afrin is liberated and they return to it.

I was 10 meters from the shell landing

For his turn, the displaced Ahmed Al-Sharif, a resident of the occupied city of Azaz, and an eyewitness to the bombardment said that a Turkish occupation's drone targeted the main street in the center of Tel Rifaat district which is crowded with civilians and the displaced.

He added, "At 11:30, the drone targeted a house, in which displaced people of Afrin are living, where I was 10 meters away from the targeted place," and he added, "The market in Tel Rifaat district is crowded with civilians, and there are no military points in the district."

At the conclusion of his speech, he noted that "this is not the first time that the Turkish occupation has targeted civilian homes through drones and artillery shells."

Targeting civilians aims to eradicate Kurds

In turn, Citizen Mohammed Abdo confirmed that targeting civilians via drones indicates the failure of the Turkish state's policies in the region, and its main goal is to eliminate Kurds.

Abdo denounced the inaction of human rights and international organizations regarding what Turkey and its mercenaries practice against the displaced people of Afrin in al-Shahba areas, calling to hold the Turkish occupation state and its mercenary groups accountable, and remove them from Afrin.
