Every year, June 4th, marks the International Day of Innocent Child Victims of Aggression.

The statement was read in the camp square of Berxwdan in Shahba District, in Arabic by Fatima Haji Mohammed and Kurdish Haider Hamo. A number of children raised the images of the martyrs of the Tel-Raffet massacre, which killed 8 children at the hands of the Turkish Occupation on December 2nd, 2019

The statement said that since the start of the Syrian crisis in 2011, children have had a large share of the pain and horrors of the terrible war that has ravaged their lives from Daraa to all areas of Syria. The children of Afrin still have the largest share of these violations at the hands of the Turkish State.

The statement quoted statistics from Human Rights Afrin: "Approximately 76 children, including 14 children, were killed as a result of the explosion of mines from remnants of war and 330 others were injured."

Noting that many children had lost organs, he added: "They were thus deprived of their natural rights to play and to exercise their preferred hobbies as a result of physical disabilities, as well as a series of psychological illnesses caused by fear, anxiety, hearing the sounds of missiles and aircraft, or watching the scenes of terror by seeing the bodies of one of their relatives or friends."

The Body concluded: "On the occasion of the International Day of Innocent Child Victims of Aggression, held on June 4th, 2006, which was adopted by the United Nations, we call upon all civil, human rights and humanitarian organizations and associations concerned with children's and human rights to intervene, to stop the war in Syria, to stop the bloodshed of innocent people, especially children, and to ensure a stable and healthy life for them in order to exercise their legitimate rights, as called for by the Human and Children Rights Commission and the Future.
