During the past few days, the city of Manbij witnessed attempts to stir up sedition in the city against the backdrop of protests related to the duty of self-defense, which was considered by social and political circles as an attempt to undermine the stability of the region and serve the agendas of external powers.

On this issue, the head of the Future Syria Party, Ibrahim Al-Qaftan, said: "The aim of fabricating these events is to create strife among the people of the region, and destabilize the reion."

He linked the events in Manbij to the recent events in the city of Qamishlo, and added, "We noticed during the issuance of Resolution 119, related to fuel prices, and there were some demonstrations and demands from the people of northern and eastern Syria to amend this decision, and the Autonomous Administration responded directly to these demands."

He continued, "this is evidence that the people of the region are the ones who make the change. This is also what was proven in the demonstrations in Manbij regarding the issue of the duty of self-defense. Among the positives is responding to citizens' demands."

He added, "Those who decide first and last are not people, and we have proven at this stage, despite its difficulty and the martyrdom of a number of our sons in Manbij, that it is the people who decide and not a group of people behind the tables."

The head of the Future Syria Party, noted that "the demands were right.  There are some mistakes on both sides, but we, as the people of Manbij, have to realize that the blood of the Syrians is precious to everyone."

He added, "We can answer these demands through real sit-ins and dialogues with the Civil Administration in the presence of dignitaries and intellectuals."

During his speech, Al-Qaftan explained that matters should be resolved through dialogue, stressing, “Both of the civil administration and the people are right and the mechanisms of demonstration are correct, but how to demonstrate was wrong, I know that there are parties involved in the issue of Manbij; investigations will be conducted in the coming days. There is no doubt that they will take measures against those who made mistakes.

Al-Qaftan stressed that they stand by the “demands of our people in Manbij and elsewhere, but they should be studied, and not by organizing demonstrations with every decision taken by the administration. understanding formula.

He added, "We do not want blood or chaos, because the other parties seek to make this region unstable, whether it is the Syrian government, the Turkish occupation or the mercenaries."

He called on the people to "accept each other and correct our opinions and demands within the national track, not within the sectarian or religious track, and we do not want this slogan to be mounted by other parties that want to achieve their goals at the expense of our people and people."

Al-Qaftan added that "the duty of self-defense is a moral and humanitarian duty, not a coercive one. We must defend this city, not leave it to greed, whether it is Turkish or otherwise."

At the conclusion of his speech, Al-Qaftan stressed the necessity of everyone’s commitment to the duty of self-defense: “Just as we benefit from this land and live on it and eat from its bounties, it is better for us to have a beautiful response to this land by defending it. How will this defense be? It is by performing the duty of self-defense, but Whoever has another opinion, we accept this opinion, and we engage in dialogue until we reach a conclusion that satisfies both parties.”
