People of Deir Ezzor eastern countryside commemorate martyrs of May

The Martyrs' Families Council organized a ceremony to commemorate 6 martyrs in the ranks of the Syrian Democratic Forces today in Abu Hamam town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

The ceremony, which was attended by the martyrs' families, military commanders and a number of members of the People's Assembly and local councils, began with holding a minute of silence in tribute for the martyrs, and several speeches were delivered, including a speech on behalf of the military forces, delivered by Shamlan al-Shamlan.

Shamlan al-Shamlan stated that "the tremendous sacrifices made by the martyrs for this land and to liberate it from the abomination of terror increased the determination and strength of those who followed their path," stressing that they would be a beacon of light that guides every yearning for freedom.

For his part, the Head of the Euphrates Council, Abdel Rahman al-Dughayfj, praised the importance of the martyrs' struggle for freedom, explaining that "they made peace and thanks to them safety prevailed in our country."

The martyrs who were remembered included "Abdel Salam al-Hamada, Ammar al-Shamlan, Abdel Rahman Ibrahim al-Hassen, Fadi Ali al-Aifan, Khalil al-Omair, Abdel Razzaq al-Omair."

The ceremony was concluded by lighting candles in front of the martyrs' pictures by their families, with the participation of the attendees.
