According to an agreement between the government of Damascus and the Turkish occupation state on the 15th of this month, about 150 people immigrated with their families from the village of "Umm Batna" in the Quneitra governorate to the occupied city of Al-Bab, as part of the policy of demographic change.

In this context, the co-chair of the Executive Council in the city of Manbij and its countryside, Muhammad Khair Sheikho, said, "Since his occupation of the regions of northern and eastern Syria and areas of Syria such as Idlib and Afrin, the Turkish occupation has resorted to many brutal methods that express the mentality of the fading Ottoman state."

He continued, "Among the practices that we have seen: raising Turkish flags over official circles and schools, changing the education policy, following the policy of Turkification and changing the currency officially handled in these areas, and the many transgressions against the Syrian people, especially in the regions of northern and eastern Syria and Syria in general."

He added, "In the last period, the Turkish occupation state resorted to cutting off the waters of the Euphrates River, fighting the Syrian people in the first place, and it sought to effect demographic change in the occupied areas, as it sent mercenaries and their families from the regions of Syria to the regions of northern and eastern Syria that it occupied, and settling them there instead of its original inhabitants who were forcibly displaced from their land and homes.

Referring to the agreement that occurred between the Damascus government and the Turkish occupation, Sheikho said, "The latest violations committed by Turkey are bringing families from Quneitra to Al-Bab, with the aim of changing the demography of the region, in coordination with the Syrian regime."

He continued, "In addition to the demographic change process and the clear and explicit Turkish policy, Turkey and its mercenaries in the occupied territories deliberately humiliated families after agreeing with the regime to displace them from their areas and resettle them in other regions, as happened yesterday upon the arrival of the convoy consisting of 30 families from" Umm Batna ", as mercenaries belonging to the "Sultan Murad Division.

Sheikho confirmed that Turkey is committing two crimes, the first being the demographic change, with the humiliation of the Syrian people in many matters, starting with confining their share of the Euphrates water.

Sheikho affirmed that in the Democratic Civil Administration in Manbij and its countryside they denounce these actions by the new Ottoman occupation in these areas, and that the original owners of the land have the right to this land.

At the end of his speech, he appealed to the United Nations and international and human rights organizations to put an end to these abuses and inhuman crimes committed by the Turkish occupation state in the eyes of the world, striking at the expense of all international charters, treaties and understandings.
