Demographic change in Afrin with Kuwaiti- Qatari sponsor

Dozens of members of the Municipalities Body of Afrin region gathered at Leader Ocalan Park in Tel Sawsan village in al-Shahba canton, and the statement was read in Arabic by the Body's Co-chair, Fayeq al-Ahmad, and in Kurdish by the Co-chair of the Body, Malak al-Hussein.

The statement shed light in the beginning on Turkey and its mercenaries adopting the demographic change policy in Afrin, after the displacement of its original inhabitants, and the continued construction of settlements with Qatari and Kuwaiti support under humanitarian names, stressing that many human rights organizations and international reports have documented what is happening in Afrin in terms of crimes, but remained unheeded.

The statement also affirmed Turkey's efforts to strip Afrin of its authentic Syrian-Kurdish identity, by looting its antiquities and destroying its cultural monuments in a step to change and distort history, and by imposing the Turkish language and currency, in addition to many crimes that affected women in particular.

The statement drew attention to the harsh conditions that more than 150,000 displaced people of Afrin are experiencing in the camps of al-Shahba canton, while their eyes remain on their occupied city, in light of international silence, especially the silence of the Russian guarantor and the Damascus government about the crimes of the Turkish occupation and its occupation of a Syrian city.

The statement called on all countries of the world and peace-loving forces to break their silence, put an end to the crimes of the Turkish occupation and stop changing the demographics of Afrin, and stressed that the displaced must stand in solidarity and adhere to the option of resistance to liberate Afrin.
