The secretary of the Kurdistan National Assembly, Muhammad Abbas, spoke about the Turkish occupation’s attacks on the Legitimate Defense Zone since the 23rd of last April.

Turkey aims to wipe out Kurdish presence and strike Autonomous Administration

Muhammad Abbas indicated at the beginning of his speech: “The Turkish state, under the pretext of fighting the PKK, aims to obliterate the Kurdish presence from the map of the world, in order to implement its plans in the region without any deterrent, so they are trying to target the PKK, in addition to striking the Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria."

Abbas added, "Turkey is extending the roots of its occupation to Başûr Kurdistan and Rojava, and here we wonder why the government of Başûr Kurdistan is still silent? It seems that there is an understanding between the Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK) and Turkey to strike the gains of the people in Rojava and strike a blow to the PKK."

Understandings between the PDK and Turkey

Abbas added in his speech: "There are political, economic and commercial understandings between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and Turkey, and because of that, no matter how deep the Turkish occupation is in Southern Kurdistan, sabotage and targeting the people with aircraft and missiles, we do not see any reaction from it."

Abbas said: "till now, the Turkish bombing continues on Afrin, Girê Spi and Serekaniye, in addition to Şengal, under the pretext of the PKK, in order to attack our Kurdish regions."

"That is why we say once again that the policy of appeasement in Southern Kurdistan with the Turkish state will have a heavy toll, as happened in the referendum of Southern Kurdistan."

The Secretary of the Kurdistan National Assembly, Muhammad Abbas concluded his speech by saying: “Turkey fights the Kurdish issue in general when it finds an opportunity before it, and in particular the PKK. As for Turkey’s statements that there are relations between Rojava and the PKK, we are like siblings and this party is like any political party or another field force, and we will face the Turkish occupation state, and we will defend Qandil by all means.
