Turkish Occupation Army has been targeting the legitimate defense zones since April 23rd.

In the relevant, Member of the Executive Body of the Kurdistan National Conference, Akram Hasso, considered that Turkish Occupation attacks on the Zab, Avaşîn and Metina areas of the legitimate defense zones, which are located within a strategic triangle linking North, South and East Kurdistan to each other, not targeting a particular party or forces, were a "direct threat" to the Kurdish people and to Kurdistan.

The purpose of these attacks
Hesso touched on other goals behind the Turkish Occupation's targeting of legitimate defense zones, and said: "The Turkish regime aims, by targeting the strategic triangle that connects North, South and East Kurdistan with each other, to deliver a message to the Kurdish people that it is their archenemy."

He continued: "Since the declaration of the independence of the Turkish Republic in 1923, Turkey has been in a state of disarray, as a result of its wrong policy of dealing with the internal crisis, especially after US President Joe Biden declared recognition of the Armenian extermination by the ephemeral Ottoman Sultanate, and the regime's disregard for annihilation, which contributed to further deepening the dispute."

Last April 24th, the Biden administration recognized that the 2015 massacre of Armenians by the Ottoman Empire was a "genocide," a classification avoided by American presidents, to avoid damaging the American-Turkish relationship, while the announcement angered Turkey.

Hosso stated that the United States Congress was present to take a number of decisions that would accuse Turkey of breaking international laws and violating human rights: "Turkey must return to the table of dialogue with the Kurd and resolve the Kurdish issue, in addition to putting forward effective solutions that will lift the country out of its thousands of years of problems."

'Washington is silent about the attacks'
On the American stance on attacks on legitimate defense zones, Hosso felt that American policy towards what was going on in the region, especially with Biden's arrival to the power, was no longer somewhat compatible, and that Washington was likely not to agree as a result of Turkish Occupation attacks on legitimate defense zones.

Hosso pointed out that Biden's official recognition of the Armenian genocide amounted to a stern message to the Turkish regime, which would soon move towards a dangerous phase that could lead it towards an abyss, calling the report published on the American media against three leaders of the PKK "not serious," stating that it was "some kind of political discourse."

The position of the Hewlêr Government raises suspicion '

Hosso stressed that the silence of the Hewlêr Government towards Turkish Occupation attacks on legitimate defense zones was suspicious," stating that these attacks target part of the geography of Kurdistan, and the Kurdish people.

Hosso noted that the Kurdistan Regional Government should fulfil its duty to the Kurd and explain its agreement as a result of what was happening within Kurdistan geography.
