After the Turkish attack on the city of Serekaniye on October 9, 2019, and its occupation of the cities of Serekaniye and Girê Spi / Tal Abyad, and controlling Alouk station, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries are constantly cutting off water on the city of Hasakah.

Since April 12, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, the so-called "Syrian National Army", have once again cut off the water from the city of Hasakah and its countryside, after they stole the electricity that supplies the station, which led to the burning of the power station completely.

After the power station was disabled as a result of the overloading, the Energy Office in Al-Jazeera region immediately maintained the station located in Al-Darbasiyah district, and electricity was delivered to Alouk station, but the mercenaries did not operate the station by order of a Turkish officer.

The Water Directorate and Hasakah Canton Council declared a state of emergency in the canton on April 19, by holding a meeting to take the necessary measures to deliver water to the people, in addition to forming emergency teams.

The canton already includes about 300,000 displaced people from Serekaniye and Gire Spi, occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries.

The co-chair of Hasakah Canton Council, Khabat Suleiman, said: "The Turkish occupation is constantly cutting off water to the people of Hasaka canton in light of the great spread of the Corona virus, and the advent of the month of Ramadan in order to pressure the Autonomous Administration."

Suleiman added, "The malfunction in the power station was repaired by the Energy Office in Jazira region to replenish the Alouk station, but a Turkish officer ordered the operation of three wells and only one pump in order to prevent the water from reaching the people."

He said “Two days ago, the Russian guarantor entered the Alouk station in order to discuss the Alouk station, but so far we have not seen any result, and the Turkish officers’ condition was to operate Three wells and only one pump. "

The Alouk station is considered the source of access to water for the city of Hasaka, Tel Tamr district, and the southern regions of Hasakah, such as al-Hol, al-Arisha and Marka, in addition to the camps within the area, such as Arisheh, al-Hol, Washo Kani and Serekani camp, with a population of one million.

Suleiman indicated that cutting off the water supply to the people will lead in the coming days to a real humanitarian catastrophe, without an alternative so far to the Alouk station.

Suleiman confirmed that they had formed emergency teams and determined the number of tanks within the Water Directorate, in addition to identifying the institutions that require the delivery of water to them, such as hospitals, bakeries and mills.

Khabat Suleiman appealed to the concerned countries and humanitarian organizations to intervene to stop the violations of the Turkish state against the components of the region, and to remove the Alouk station from the control of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.
