Qamishlo city witnesses a total calm due to cease fire

Clashes between the "National Defense" militia and the Internal Security Forces, since the evening of yesterday, after the militia attacked a Security Forces barrier, escalated at about 11.30 a.m. on Wednesday night.

This followed an attack by Damascus Government militia on points where the Internal Security Forces had advanced within Al-Tahi neighborhood, as a result of clashes and within the framework of legitimate defense.

In response to this escalation, the Internal Security Forces were able to advance in the neighborhood and take control of the headquarters of the militia of the so-called "Lilo detachment" located north-east of the neighborhood of Al-Thai, which is the centerpiece of the militias

In addition, a joint delegation of Russian military police stationed at Qamishlo airport and the Office of Autonomous-Administration Relations visited seam points in Al-Tahi neighborhood, including the "Lilo detachment."

The Russian military police on behalf of the so-called National Defense militias of the Damascus Government forces reached a ceasefire with the Internal Security Forces.

Since 2:30 p.m. yesterday, the neighborhood has been in full calm as a result of the cessation of ceasefire clashes, which are scheduled to last until noon on Thursday.

Attacks by the militias of the so-called National Defense on the Internal Security Forces resulted in the martyrdom of Asaish Qamishlo "martyr Khalid Malem Osman" and the wounding of three others.
