On March 20th, 2021 Turkey withdrew from the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence, better known as the Istanbul Convention, singed by at least 34 European countries and enacted in 2014.

Turkey was one of the very first signatories to the convention to show itself as a pioneering democracy in gender equality.  Since March 20th, 27 feminist murders took place in the country as countless number underwent torture according to the Turkish Opposition.

Kongra Star's in Darbassiye Zindan Hiso indicated that this is very dangerous as violence against women is on the increase and women are being confined to homes, adding '' Turkey never abides by international treaties how could it abide by Istanbul Convention''.

Female politicians are being perceived as dangerous by Erdogan and his supporters so he fears the will of activists and the 23 years sentence passed on Lail Guven and life imprisonment passed on fighter Cicek Kobane corroborate this''.

'' the future of women in Turkey would be a very catastrophic and bad one, she is going to be deprived of her will as violence and murders are on the rise''.

From her part, Abir Hesen indicated that Turkey withdrew from the convention because it was not in line with it's arbitrary policies against women''.

''Turkey is very well aware of the leading role of women, so it tries to obliterate identity and will of women fearing liberating views to be transmitted into Turkey as it is in Rojava where she plays a very leading and prominent role militarily, politically, administratively and societally''.

At the end of her speech, Abir called on all feminist associations to increase fighting to protect their rights against Turkish plots.
