A spokesman for the Human Rights Organization Afrin- Syria said in statement to Hawar news agency ANHA that the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries are building a new settlement complex in the village of Khalta (Khalidiya), in the Sherawa district, east of the occupied city of Afrin.

Sheikho noted that the compound is a village called "Kuwait Al-Rahma," sponsored by the Sham al-Khair Association, funded by the States of Kuwait and Qatar, with 300 houses, as well as a mosque, a clinic and a Quran conservatory.

Sheikho stated that the so-called "local council" of the Turkish occupation in the occupied city of Afrin had announced on its page that the mercenary (Mohammad Sheikh Rashid), Vice-Head of the "local council," had made a field visit the site of the settlement project at seeing how the progress of the building is going on.

Sheikho noted the settlement compound is purpose to settle the families of mercenaries who had been brought from various Syrian areas.

According to Sheikho, this settlement project is not the first of its kind. "The Syrian Forum, chaired by Ghassan Hito, declared the former head of the so-called "The Coalition Provisional Government "on the second of April, an institution called "Al-Ihssan for Relief and Development, "headed by Baraa Al- Samoudi, initiated a project of building /247/ housing unit with an area of 40 M, including a home garden of 60 square meters for each house, and selected a mountain site known, as "Jayi Shawti, "Near Mount Qazqli in the village of Kafr Safra in the district of Janderis to set up the project."

The Forum, Al-Ihssan Foundation, is reportedly two cooperating organizations with close ties to the Turkish occupation authorities and offices in Turkey.

Through these projects, the Turkish occupation sought to consolidate settlement and demographic change in the occupied canton of Afrin and change the features of the area after more than three years of occupation.

Sheikho added that those projects, on which the Turkish occupation operates under humanitarian names, are carried out by force and force of arms by mercenary factions such as Sultan Suleiman Shah's mercenaries (Al-Amshat), Ahrar Al-Sharqiyya and Sham Corps mercenaries.

In conclusion, he said that the Kuwait Al-Rahma Association had built a university at the site of the Yazidi Union Centre in Afrin last year, after being bombed by the Turkish occupation during the Turkish aggression against the canton of Afrin in 2018.
