Amed..Turkish police besiege women's activity against cancellation of Istanbul Agreement

Women in the city of Amed, Bakur Kurdistan, organized an event condemning the withdrawal from the Istanbul Agreement, but the Turkish police surrounded the women and prevented them from running the event.

The Turkish police prevented a demonstration called by the Free Women Movement (TJA) and the Women Council in the Democratic People's Party (HDP) against the cancellation of the Istanbul Agreement, in Beyazit district in Amed.

HDP spokeswoman Aisha Ajar Basharan, HDP MPs Nuran Armir, Ramziya Towson, Dersim Dagh, Simira Guzel, TJA activists and many other women also flocked to the event.

Women's resistance to Turkish police practices continues in Amed.
