Co-chair of the Executive Body of Syria's Democratic Party, Ilaham Ahmed, offered condolences on the death of the Kurdish doctor and activist Neman Ghafouri saying they have lost a strong woman.

The Kurdish activist that passed away on Thursday, after contracting the Corona virus, descends from the Koi Sanjak Province, in Southern Kurdistan, at early age she took refuge to Iran when Iraqi forces of Saddam Husain were marching on the area she was living in, later they migrated to Sweden to study medicines, later she returned to Southern Kurdistan and Iraq to help war and conflicts victims. 

Nemam founded the ''Joint Help for Kurdistan'' an non-profit organization in Sweden focused mainly on Yazidi women playing a major  role in helping the Shengal and Kobane IDPs after the ISIS onslaught in 2914.

On this, Co-chair of the Executive Body of Syria's Democratic Party, Ilaham Ahmed, said in a tweet:

''Today we lost an incredibly strong woman, reae model for many and true heroine. Nemam Ghafouri founder of Joint Help for Kurdistan who passed the past five years helping Yezidi women and children. May her soul rest in peace! My deepest condolences to her #family and loved ones''.

In turn, the SDF Commander –In –Chief, Mazlum Abdi, said in a tweet:

''I am deeply saddened by the tragic news of passing of Dr Nemam Ghafouri.

We lost a wonderful person and a great activist who devoted her life to helping others and particularly people of Kobani and Yazidi community.

May her soul Rest In Peace.''
