I have been impressed by the warmth and courage of the people in the region

The US Deputy Special Envoy to Syria, David Brownstein, said in a statement to our agency: "I started my task in north and east Syria 4 months ago, and I have visited many locations from Derik to Deir Ezzor, and from Qamishli to Baghouz, . It was wonderful for me to meet the people of the region, and incredibly I was impressed by the warmth, courage and strength of the people here.

Brownstein indicated that their focus is on finding a lasting solution to the issues that we find in north-east Syria and in the region in general, so we focus on working with all partners, both inside and outside to find solutions that bring peace to everyone, so that life returns for the children and for a better tomorrow.

"We are working to create conditions for negotiations that bring together all Syrian parties"

The U.S. envoy said: "I think we not have the answer now regarding the involvement of the Autonomous Administration in future discussions about the Syrian crisis," and indicated that the important thing is to continue the tasks that are being pursued to create a strong administration, create the security and peace that the residents of the region need after the suffering of the Islamic State, and create conditions that allow for negotiations that bring together all the Syrian parties and work for the territorial integration of Syria.

Commenting on the ongoing Turkish aggressive attacks on the region, David Brownstein said: "Any escalation or action by any party that leads to an escalation, we consider it unhelpful. We have worked and will continue to work with our partners in order to ensure that the escalation and attacks stop, and from here we call on all the parties to step back from the escalation, return back to dialogue and focus on political solutions."

He added, "I visited Baghouz, and I saw the left of it had not been destroyed, but the right part had been destroyed, and for me, it is a strong symbol. We won the military battle. Now we need to focus on reconstruction, stabilization, and economics. That is the next phase in order to keep the territories that we own one together. We left the weapons and now it is the turn of the shovels to work in the region.

Our position on SDF and the Autonomous Administration has not changed

The US Deputy Special Envoy to Syria noted that their position on the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces has not changed, and they are still providing them with assistance in order to bring stability and security to the region.

The US Deputy Special Envoy to Syria David Brownstein said: "We won the battle against the ISIS with guns, and now we won the war through governance, bringing security and providing effective services, and from this forum I say that our relations with the Autonomous Administration and SDF will remain on strong basis, and we will continue to work steadily with this administration to be an exclusive administration that includes the entire national and religious identities living in north-east Syria."
