The Lebanese writer and journalist, Khalil Al-Qadi, the Member of the Arab Initiative for the Freedom of Ocalan, called on all international and regional organizations concerned with human rights to contribute and assist in requesting the Turkish government to release the freedom fighter and thinker Abdullah Ocalan, especially since the arrest of the leader Ocalan is an arbitrary and political arrest, and the time has come to put an end to this detention.

In a special statement to our agency, Al-Qadi indicated that "the Arab Initiative for the Freedom of Ocalan fears that there will be a conspiracy and an assassination attempt on the leader Ocalan, so we warn against the repercussions of the international disregard for the status of the struggler Ocalan, especially since Erdogan's regime attempts to eliminate everyone who raises their voice with a right word in the face of the ruler oppressor and despot."

The Lebanese writer and journalist added: "We believe that it is the duty of the European Committee against Torture to work seriously, hold the Turkish government accountable and know the fate of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, in addition to exerting pressure on Erdogan's regime to secure the release of the leader Ocalan."

He stressed that "the Committee Against Torture (CPT) must do its duty regarding this issue, go to Imrali, obtain correct information about the status of the struggler, thinker and leader Ocalan, and announce this in a press conference in front of the media, the world, the people and friends about the truth of the leader Ocalan's status."

Al-Qadi stressed that the Turkish authorities must come out with a clear position and with full transparency, announcing the health status of the struggler Ocalan, as they are responsible for his safety and health, in addition to the need to allow his family to visit him periodically in Imrali prison, knowing the truth about his health condition, and receiving medical attention under the supervision of the International Red Cross Organization.
