Mass demonstrations in Aleppo, Qamishlo on 3rd anniversary of Afrin's occupation

Today, thousands of people from the neighborhood of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, and the cities and districts of Qamishlo took part in demonstrations on the third anniversary of the occupation of Afrin by the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries, through which they saluted the resistance of Afrin people in the face of the occupation, and called for devoting efforts to liberate Afrin.

The demonstrators gathered in front of the meeting hall in the western section of Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, and set off in a demonstration under the slogan "In the Spirit of Garê and Serdem Resistance, We Will Guarantee Afrin's Liberation," carrying pictures of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, olive branches, and a model of Afrin's name written on it with olive leaves, in addition to banners with: "Afrin is ours, death to the Turkish occupation, stop isolation, fascism and occupation. It is time for freedom, " written on, chanting slogans saluting Afrin's resistance.

When the demonstrators arrived at the Zeitoun Roundabout in Ashrafieh neighborhood, they held a minute of silence, then the Co-chair of the Democratic Society Movement, Gharib Hesso, spoke about the inhumane practices of the Turkish state against civilians amid international silence by the concerned organizations, and said: "The occupation of Afrin is not the same as the occupation of Cyprus and Iskenderun. The people of Afrin who yearn for freedom will not allow this occupation to continue. The resistance that they showed during the Resistance of the Age has confirmed to the whole world that they are the owners of will, steadfastness and resistance."

At the end of his speech, Hesso stressed "the continuation of their resistance and dedication of efforts to liberate the leader Abdullah Ocalan and Afrin because Afrin's liberation lies in the leader's liberation."

In turn, the Co-chair of the Martyrs' Families Council, Roshin Musa, noted that March symbolizes the month of extermination and displacement for Afrin people, and said: "Today the occupation of Afrin is entering its third year under the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries and their implementation of the most heinous crimes against all components of the Syrian people, in addition to striking the model of co-existence in the region."

Then the demonstration ended with chanting slogans that saluted Afrin's resistance and denounced the Turkish occupation.

QAMISHLO

On the third anniversary of Afrin's occupation by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, hundreds of people from Qamishlo took part in a demonstration condemning the Turkish occupation and demanding its liberation from the hands of fascism.

The demonstration began in front of Othman Sabri Roundabout, and roamed the neighborhoods of the city, during which the participants raised slogans against the Turkish occupation, and others calling for the liberation of Afrin from the clutches of fascism.

The participants called for an end to the isolation of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, while they carried olive branches in their hands as a symbol of Afrin and peace.

After the demonstration roamed the main streets of the city, it ended in front of the building of the Human Rights Organization in al-Siyahi neighborhood of Qamishlo, chanting slogans calling for the liberation of all Syrian lands from the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

The citizen from Afrin, Dalia Hannan, explained that the Turkish state does not know what freedom of opinion and human rights mean, and this is subject to condemnation and denunciation.

Dalia Hannan emphasized that the history of the Turkish state is stained with blood, as it is now based on dictatorship and one authority, and it takes the breaking of people's will as its basis.

She added: "After the international conspiracy that targeted the leader Abdullah Ocalan in 1999, Turkey sought to renew its plot to occupy Afrin," noting that the Turkish occupation attacked Afrin with all brutality and violence in order to instill fear in the hearts of citizens.

In turn, The Member of the Democratic Union Party, Mohammed Dalil, said, "The Turkish occupation used to claim combating terrorism by invading Afrin, but rather its aim was to occupy a piece of Kurdistan's land and divide it."

He pointed out that the city of Afrin was subjected to violent attacks launched by Turkey and mercenaries loyal to it, and they brought down the statue of Kawa al-Haddad, in reference to Turkey's fight against Kurdish culture.

Today, hundreds of residents of Jel Agha district of Qamishlo canton went out in a demonstration, and hundreds of Jel Agha components gathered in the Martyr Masoum Roundabout in the middle of the district, and set off a demonstration, carrying banners with "No to the occupation, it is time to liberate Afrin", "Afrin is in our hearts" written on, the leader Abdullah Ocalan's pictures, chanting slogans that saluted Afrin's resistance and denounced the Turkish occupation.

When the demonstrators arrived at Al-Karaj Square, they held a minute of silence, followed by Sheikh Ragheb Al-Faris giving a speech on behalf of the district council, in which he indicated that the Turkish occupation state, through its support for its mercenaries, was able to occupy Afrin and commit the most heinous crimes against its inhabitants and all humanity.

As for the member of the Kongra Star, Nazha Saifuddin, noted: "The Resistance of the Age will be witnessed by the history of mankind through the fighters of Afrin confronting this brutal occupation despite its advanced weapons, and inflicting heavy losses on it, but the policies of the major countries led to the occupation of Afrin and the displacement of its people."

Nazha confirmed at the end of her speech that as women, people, and components of north-east Syria, they will continue the struggle until the liberation of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, Afrin and all areas occupied by the Turkish occupation is achieved.

Then the demonstration ended with chanting slogans saluting the resistance of the people of Afrin in the face of the occupation, and denouncing the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

TEL KOÇER

Today, hundreds of residents, members and administrators of civil society institutions in the Tel Koçer district took part in a demonstration, regarding the third anniversary of the occupation of Afrin by the Turkish occupation army.

The demonstration started in front of Al-Shawaf School in Tel Koçer, and roamed the main street of the district, during which the participants chanted slogans denouncing the occupation of Afrin, and carried banners that read, "No to the Turkish occupation in Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî," "In the spirit of Avesta and Karkar, we will escalate the resistance and liberate Afrin."
