NEWS DESK,

The text of the statement read:

“We cannot communicate in any way with our clients in Imrali prison, and they are: Mr. Abdullah Ocalan, Mr. Omer Hayrî Konar, Birêz Hamîlî Yildirim and Birêz Veysî AktaThe last meeting with Mr. Ocalan was in Imrali Island prison on the 7th of August. The year 2019, and the last communication of our clients with the outside world took place on April 27, 2020, and it was over the phone due to urgent circumstances, Covid-19, as it was the first time that they were granted this right.

Since that time, we have not been able to find out any information. Until March 14, 2021, some allegations appeared about Mr. Ocalan's life, on anonymous social media sites.

We have not been able to communicate with our clients in Imrali for a long time, and therefore we are very seriously investigating any allegations or news issued about their situation, and we are doing what we can in this regard. We do not know the source of the allegations that are being circulated from time to time, but what is important is that what is being promoted about Mr. Ocalan's situation is done systematically.

Certainly, the main reason for this is the strict isolation imposed on Imrali, and the preventing of all communications in front of us. Because Imrali prison is not one of the prisons that lawyers and families can visit periodically, and learn about the health and living conditions there.

Such allegations are a matter of great concern and this anxiety must be removed, and the way to eliminate it is to work as quickly as possible to find an opportunity to communicate with Imrali.

We insistently demand an end to isolation, which is in itself a bad measure, as well as finding ways to communicate in order to remove anxiety about their health and life circumstances.

policies of discrimination and the policy of isolation imposed on the prison and on a group of prisoners, and we demand that the officials take responsibility and open the door to an Imrali prison for perusal, and the recognition of the rights of communication and legal visits. "
