​​​​​​​TEV-DEM: People's March 12th, 2004, Uprising corollary to conspiring plots

with the advent of the annual anniversary of the People's March 12th, 2004, Uprising, a statement was released by TEV-DEM to the public opinion that reads as follows:

''In memory of the 17^th, annual anniversary of the Qamishlo Uprising we all bow in respect and in honor to the Qamishlo Uprising martyrs, and all North Eastern Syrian Revolutions', the popular widespread uprising in 2004 that sparked from the city of Qamishlo and spread to Rojava cities and the biggest Syrian cities as well, as a swirl in the face of the Ba'athist, chauvinist and the Aflaqite regime. There has been a well hatched conspiracy by some chauvinist Ba'athists in Syria with the aim to subvert the will of our people and to exterminate our culture and values and the gains once for all, both in Rojava and Syria as a whole,  sparing no bids to foment sedition between Kurds and Arabs and other components but that was unsparingly transformed into a people's uprising in the face of such conspiring schemes, as the regime was faced with unsolvable crisis that goes on up to date in which it has lost political balance both in and outside Syria.  

''the Syrian Regime ought to play a positive role in producing some constitutional reforms and comply to Kurds' demands and to work out on developing democracy but it reacted instead bearing the Kurds accountability. Up to date, and after ten years  of the peoples' will revolution, nevertheless the struggle is still continuing due to the clutch by the regime to it's chauvinistic mentality and collaboration with the Turkish fascism all led to the abortion of the political process for a more democratic Syria, adopting the Adana Agreement that introduced the regime into a labyrinth both Syria and people not in need of,  and that made Syria a battleground to political liquidations both locally and internationally as the Syrian Regime evades responsibility and it's ethical duties regarding peaceful solutions most notably adopting dialogue with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria that fight for a plural, democratic and decentralised Syria and fights for regaining the national Syrian identity for all social components that is the most suitable solution to Syria except for the situation would become more complicated and the struggle would go on. In pursuance of the Adana Agreement the regime passed decisions and resolutions stipulate arbitrary and coercive arrests against our people, and set up terror centers and the State's Security Tribunals in bids to repress the region. 

But our people never surrendered though live ammunition was used by the security forces that led to the martyrdom of tens, the injury of hundreds and arrests of thousands of our people to which peaceful and democratic protests were held calling for the release of all detainees and in condemnation of the repressive policy by the regime while bidding martyrs farewell. The People's March 12th, 2004, Uprising martyrs, put into the surface the chauvinist and racial spirit of the Ba'athist ideology towards the Kurds and Syria's other components, and the extent to which the chauvinist regime was inspired by the Turkish fascism in light of the Adana Agreement, up to date this regime is being stripped of it's will, and view our Kurdish community that sacrificed tens and thousands of it's best girls and youths defending Syria and protecting territories against occupation and terror with hatred and contempt at a time Syria is being occupied in many areas such as Afrin, Sere Kaniye and Gire Spi by the Turkish Occupation and it's mercenaries with the aim to tear the map of Syria.

The TEV-DEM believes that the situation in Syria is getting more worse as there is a political vacuum complicated in many arenas that prolong the crisis, there is a real humanitarian crisis due to the aggravating economic situation posed on daily bases, the Syrian Case is an internal one that entails a local solution.    

We give allegiance to the March 12^th Uprising and all freedom martyrs to adopt their traces and to increase fighting and resistance as Syrian components against the Turkish Occupation of our lands. The Syrian Regime ought to approach really to the current situation, to save Syria against potential catastrophes to which it should change the adopted approach for a democratic regime and accepting the will of free peoples of Syria''.
