The Humanitarian Affairs Office for NE Syria organized today a meeting to address the challenges facing the camps, share the AANES's action plan with operating NGOs in the region.

All operating NGOs in NE Syria, some international organizations, representatives of agencies and programs operating in the region and representatives of the Social Affairs and Labor Authority in NE Syria participated in the meeting.

The meeting began with a minute of silence, followed by a welcoming word by, Farhad Hamo, the Co-chair of the Humanitarian Affairs Office.

Then the Vice President of the Co-chair of the AANES, Badran Çiya Kurd, spoke about the latest political developments in the regions of northeast Syria, and said: “There are many challenges that are of great interest to organizations; one of them is the security. "

Çiya Kurd, in response, highlighted the repeated attacks by the Turkish occupation attacks on Ain Issa and Tal Tamr, the plans of the Damascus government and its Russian ally cooperated with Turkey and the ISIS cells threat on the region, which cast a negative shadow on the activities of the organization

He touched on the security tensions created by the Damascus government in Qamishlo and Al-Hasakah, NE Syria, and its policies that exploit the humanitarian aspect and aid to cover the economic crisis, and imposed a siege on the area of ​​al-Shahba and Sheikh Maqsoud, where the Afrin IDPs are  and preventing the entry of humanitarian aid and medicine to it in order to conduct its political plans.

He also noted that the closure of the Tel Koçber crossing is nothing but a political process against the AANES areas, and that the camp issues pose great challenges, and said: “We discussed this matter in many international forums and meetings on how to deliver humanitarian support and aid to all regions. Syria, in particular those outside the control of the Damascus government. "

He emphasized that the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces are working hard to stand in the way of the plans that destabilize the region.

In turn, the Director of the Camps Affairs Office in North and East Syria, Sheikmous Ahmed, talked about the situation of the camps, the difficulties and the basic needs they lack.

The meeting included discussions about the priorities of the Autonomous Administration at the present time with regard to the gaps and the most important needs.

Discussions also focused on the Serêkaniyê camp and Washokani camp suffering, the situation of the camps in the al-Shahba area that is besieged by the Damascus government, in addition to assessing the camp’s situation and reporting the organizations operating in North and East Syria about the camps.

During the meeting, the most important challenges and outstanding issues that hinder the development of humanitarian work were discussed, and how to take the necessary measures to conduct humanitarian work and secure a suitable environment to facilitate the work of organizations in northern and eastern Syria.
