The conference was held today in the presence of members of the Autonomous Administration in the North and East of Syria (AANES), a delegation from the Global Coalition, leaders of the Deir Ezzor Military Council, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), members of civil institutions and members of the councils that were formed, And notables from the region.

The conference started with a minute of silence, then on behalf of the Autonomous Administration in northern and eastern Syria, Berivan Khaled delivered a speech on behalf of the AANES. She praised this historic day for Deir Ezzor after suffering under the ISIS, and said: “After the Syrian Democratic Forces sacrificed thousands of martyrs for liberating the region from ISIS mercenaries and building the local councils to provide services to our people and works to restore the infrastructure.

She emphasized, "Many attempts failed for sowing discord and assassinations, to thwart the administration in Deir Ezzor, but the people, dignitaries of the tribes and the actors thwarted them."

She added, "We must be open to the success of the AANES, through which we were able to create a safe environment to serve our people in NE Syria."

"This historic step was by a preparatory committee and members of the Civil Administration in Deir Ezzor, as they did their utmost to form the district councils in this region," she added.

On behalf of the Deir ez-Zor Military Council, Ahmed Al-Khabil said: “Establishing the district councils is an important step in the history of the AANES, and the military forces in the region will protect our people and institutions.”

Al-Khabil added: "This is an important step in the Deir Ezzor canton and means increased support from the AANES."

A speech was also delivered on behalf of the Legislative Council, by Dhiab al-Jilat, in which he said: “These achievements are nothing but the fruit of the sacrifice of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of their homeland. "

On behalf of the Executive Council in Deir Ezzor, Ghassan Al-Youssef said: "The transformation that Deir Ezzor is witnessing is the beginning of a change and restructuring of the civil administration in Deir Ezzor."

  Al-Youssef stated: “The Civil Administration, tribal leaders and actors in the region have been working for eight months for this historic day on which four cantons were formed in Deir Ezzor, the Western, the Northern, the Central, and the Eastern Region, which includes more than 168 members from Deir Ezzor. Each council has 42 members. "

Al-Youssef emphasized that the vast area of ​​Deir Ezzor and its population density needs more services and restore infrastructure. The lack of service stability makes there a loophole for the intervention of many external parties.

Then the first founding conference of the councils of Deir Ezzor concluded its work by pledging to protect the democratic nation project and the AANES project.
