SDF: We arrested 87 mercenaries in last campaign

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) revealed the outcome of the campaign it launched against ISIS cells in the countryside of Deir Ezzor, which lasted for 10 days, and confirmed that it managed to arrest 87 mercenaries from ISIS cells, including the killers of the two martyrs Saada and Hind.

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces issued a statement revealing the outcome of the campaign launched by the forces on February 4^th in Deir Ezzor countryside in revenge for the martyrs Saada and Hind, and the statement included:

“Recently, the activities of ISIS have increased in Deir Ezzor region. ISIS has been drawing its strength in particular from the attacks of the Turkish occupation and targeting the gains of the peoples of the region, and is trying to regroup and revive itself. For this reason, in recent times, especially in Sawar region and in Deir Ezzor region in general, many terrorist acts were carried out against civilians and members of the Autonomous Administration, and among those activities was the assassination of two struggling women who were Members of Tel Shayer Council of al-Dashisha, namely Mrs. Saada Al-Hermas and Hind Latif Al-Khudair.

Therefore, we launched a massive campaign in Deir Ezzor region on February 4^th, with the participation of SDF, YPG, YPJ and the Internal Security Forces to avenge the two martyrs, and to prevent ISIS from strengthening its ranks. The campaign was completed on February 14^th.”

During the campaign, dozens of dens of ISIS cells were raided and 87 members of those terrorist cells were arrested, including the killers of the two martyrs Saada and Hind, and the mercenary called Ibrahim Abdel Razzaq "Hitler", and seized a quantity of ammunition in their possession. In addition, an ISIS tunnel was found in al-Dashisha area.

The outcome of the campaign is as follows:

“The capture of 87 mercenaries, the seizure of 15 AK-47 weapons, 8 pistols, 4 sniper weapons, 5 hunting rifles, a Snowball weapon, two grenades and two mines.

During this campaign, we dealt a severe blow to ISIS's attempts to revitalize itself and intensify its activities, and the campaign achieved its goals. The spirit of responsibility on the part of the people of Deir Ezzor and cooperation with our forces played an important role in the success of the campaign. It is necessary to continue this approach in a stronger manner in order to continue our operations against ISIS mercenaries until they are eliminated.”
