Arab initiative for  Ocalan's freedom praised by lawyers 

On February 15^th, marking the 22^nd anniversary of the international plot against leader, the group called for a rapid move for the case of Ocalan and his people, for the Arab and Kurdish relation and in contribution to the battle against the fascist regime ruling Turkey.

The statement reads:

''On the twenty-second anniversary of the criminal operation carried out by the fascist Turkish state, which had led to the kidnapping of the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan. A group of Egyptian and Arab intellectuals clarified Ocalan’s and his people’s issue.

our human belonging is pushing us to support the fighters for the freedom of their peoples, to keep strong historical relationships That brought the Kurdish and Arab peoples together, in addition to participate in our country battel against the Turkish Fascist regime, which supports terrorist groups, to destabilize our homeland, to gather mercenaries on our borders for threat the future, lives and security of our citizens, and direct its media poisons to attack our country.

At the same time, this regime crushes the dreams and ambitions of the Kurdish people, turns their land into a great jail, point its treacherous weapon to the chests of peaceful Kurdish children and women, destroy the houses over the heads of their inhabitants, and deprives them of all the causes of life and the necessities of existence.

All these situations encourage us today to announce and Launch “the Arab initiative for the freedom of Abdullah Ocalan

” .we call all intellectuals, academics, media professionals, politicians, jurists, and others who are Concerned with Ocalan and Kurdish issue to support this Arab initiative.

The Arab Initiative will work on the intellectual and cultural fields to let the Arab people know about the procession and the ideas , and the wide range of the resistance by the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and to mobilize support for the justice of his freedom, after such a long time of suffering, from disease and isolation in a solitary cell in a remote prison, deprived him of his most basic rights of life and communication with his peoples and his community members''.

In the same relation, the al-'Asri legal office defending leader Abdullah Ocalan appreciated highly the initiative,in a statement that reads:  

''first of all, we highly appreciate your efforts exerted for the freedom of our client, Mr. Abdullah Ocaln.

''We were all wishes to deliver our greetings to you after sharing your efforts with our client, hearing him and delivering his own greetings directly to you, but unfortunately, we have not given access to him since April 27^th, 2020, due to the absolute isolation imposed on him in the sole confinement in the Imrali Island Prison, nevertheless, your determination stresses that meeting Mr. Ocalan is just a question of time.

''you know that Mr. Ocalan is held at the Imrali Island Prison since 15^th, February 1999, in a pirate operation carried out in continuation to the international plot that was hatched against him, since then he has been in difficult conditions due to the democratic nation project as a way to a free life, democracy and coexistence in the region that runs contradictory to the nation state system that turned the Middle East into a vast prison for the people living there, the democratic nation idea was created by our client as a solution not for the Kurdish people alone rather for all peoples living in the region as a whole.  

''throughout his 22 years imprisonment Ocalan has never stopped searching for a democratic solution, for this among others, his isolation was tightened that do not run with any laws and though reports filed by the AIHM and the CPT confirm that all practices amount to torture, rather such practices are still unremitting, since April 27^th, 2020, have no access to any information regarding Ocalan.

''based on this, all your efforts exerted in the Arab society, as representing one of the indigenous and deeply rooted in the region, home to ancient civilizations is a prominent contribution on the way to Ocalan's freedom and has priceless and noble values''.
