It was noted by the RONAHÎ TV satellite channel, in a statement,  that they applied in 2020 for setting up an office for the channel in  Başur, after all legal and necessary documents were dully given, but the Asayish have never relied to our application up to date, saying that all what is being said by the Asayish are but allegations in a bid to prevent our channel from working there.

The statement reads as follows:

'' since the very early of October 2020, RONAHÎ TV, delegated by mother company based in the Swedish capital Stockholm, sent an official and dully application to the concerned bodies of the Kurdistan Regional Government to get a permit to set up an office in the capital of the region, Hewler, to ease work of the channel dully.

Unfortunately, the security authorities (Asayish) in Hewler never replied to our application, on the pretext that meeting by the concerned committee has not yet been held due to the corona virus, and the application is being suspended, and it has not been okayed by the authorities there to work in the region, though Iraqi authorities gave us a permit for authorization, we paid a visit to the Intellectuals' Body in Southern Kurdistan and handed over all necessary documents to the concerned bodies there, of which the Asayish in Hewler, but up to date, it has not responded to our application.

We, the RONAHÎ TV, considers that such allegations posed by the Asayish that the meeting has not been held yet, is just a pretext to prevent our channel from working there, and at the same time we condemn this conduct, that discharges into media freedom violation and harassment by the authorities there, we call on the concerned bodies in the Kurdistan Regional Government to refrain from such conducts and to give us permit, and to consolidate media freedom in Southern Kurdistan.

Worth to note that  RONAHÎ TV works in many cities and Arab and European capitals via offices or correspondents, the question that poses it's self is why the authorities in Southern Kurdistan prevent setting up a RONAHÎ TV office there''?
