General Command of the Internal Security Forces in Raqqa stated that investigations are under way in the case of firing at the convoy of the co-chairmanship of the Deir Ezzor Civil Council, that took place at the town of al-Karame in eastern rural Raqqa yesterday.

A written statement was released by the General Command of the Internal Security Forces in Raqqa to the public opinion and media outlets regarding firing at the convoy of the co-chairmanship of the Deir Ezzor Civil Council, yesterday.

The statement reads as follows:

''while the military traffic was on duty in eastern rural Raqqa as usual, a convoy composed of three cars passed through the military checkpoint speedily that made, on suspicion, members at the military checkpoint to fire at, according to initial testimonies of the members of the military checkpoint, that led to the martyrdom of a driver of a car and the injury of three others, then it was known that the cars of the co-chairmanship of the Deir Ezzor Civil Council''.

''Soon, investigations were commenced by the Internal Security Forces into the event, on which all members present at the military checkpoint were detained to know the actual reality of the event''.
