Derik people stress resistance in face of occupiers

The Turkish occupation seeks to expand its occupation territory, launching more attacks on the regions of northern and eastern Syria, and Şengal district in Başûr Kurdistan, in response to this, the people of Derik city and its Koçerat region have gone out today in two separate demonstrations.

During the two demonstrations, the people affirmed their adherence to the option of resistance, and rejected the Turkish occupation of their land.

In Koçerat area, hundreds of residents gathered in front of the town council of Khanna Seri, and from there set out for a demonstration to the entrance to the town chanting slogans that salute the resistance of the Syrian Democratic Forces.

The demonstrators raised pictures of martyrs and children who were killed as a result of the Turkish occupation's shelling of Tal Rifaat district.

After the demonstrators arrived at the entrance to the town, the demonstration turned into a mass gathering, during which the administrator of the Democratic Union Party, Faisal Hassan, spoke “The occupant Turkish state did not cease for a moment shelling northern and eastern Syria, as al-Shahba was targeted on the third anniversary of Afrin occupation, this aggression is a continuation of its plans. "

In his turn, Sheikh Sinan Sidush, the administrator of the Union of Muslim Scholars in Al-Jazirah canton, gave a speech in which he said, "We must be vigilant, and know who is our enemy and our friend, especially in light of the ongoing Turkish attacks on our regions."

Then the slogans of the demonstrators were raised, which salute the resistance, glorify the martyrs, and call for steadfastness in the face of the occupiers.

In the center of Derik city, a mass demonstration started from Azadi Square to the Roundabout of the Martyrs, amid chanting slogans denouncing the crimes of the Turkish occupation.

The demonstrators held banners reading "Erdogan.. Murderer", "With the resistance of Zilan and Arin, we will defeat the occupation."

The demonstration roamed the streets of Derik, amid a complete closure of shops.

At the Martyrs Roundabout, the administrator at Kongra Star in Derik city, Wasif Murad, gave a speech in which she indicated that this threat is not new to Turkey and said, "Turkey kills children under the pretext of protecting its security."

For his part, the deputy co-presidency of the Council of Dirk Muti` Ali said: "The occupying Turkish state on the anniversary of the establishment of the Autonomous Administration and the third anniversary of the occupation of Afrin shelled northern and eastern regions and is trying by all means to eliminate this experience that united the peoples of the region."

Ali added, "ISIS and the Turkish state share a common mentality, by indiscriminately killing the elderly, children and women, and shelling civilian-populated areas, so the resistance of our peoples in northern and eastern Syria will prevail in the face of all plots and plans of the Turkish state."
