Participants in sit-in tent: We will support resistance of empty bellies

The sit-in tent activities organized by the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement and the Young Women Union in al-Jazira region continue on its third consecutive day, under the slogan "It Is Time for Freedom, We Will Definitely Triumph", in support of the hunger strike campaign launched by political prisoners in Turkish prisons on the 27^th of last November, to lift the strict isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and to limit the violations of the Turkish state against them.

On the third day of the event, dozens of residents of the eastern district of Qamishlo city, and many civil institutions flocked to the sit-in tent that was set up in the garden opposite the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Qamishlo.

The participants' voices raised chanting slogans that called for the freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, denounced the violations of the Turkish state against political detainees, in addition to slogans calling for an increase in the pace of resistance and support for the hunger strikers, raising pictures of leader Abdullah Ocalan and Kurdish symbols.

During the event, the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party in Qamishlo district, Masoud Dawoud, stated that their goal of the event is to raise the pace of resistance to confront the enemy, and said: "We will escalate the pace of resistance in the face of the enemy who seeks in every way to block the sun of our freedom and undermine our will."

Dawoud affirmed that they "will march on the path of resistance until they reach their goal ending the isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and the political detainees who are engaging into the empty bellies battle in Turkish prisons as long as a drop of blood runs in their veins. We are lovers of free life."

After that, the participants in the event headed towards the building of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Qamishlo city. Then, the administrator in Qamishlo Canton Council, Abdel Karim Abdel Rahman, delivered a statement calling on the international community and human rights organizations to take strict positions regarding the Turkish state's violations against the leader Abdullah Ocalan and the political detainees within its prisons.

The Economic Commission in Qamishlo canton, and the Women's Economy Committee in North and East Syria are due to participate in the evening event.
