Under the slogan, "No to the Turkish Occupation, Together, We Protect Women and Life" the Kongra Star in al-Hasakah canton recalled the eighth anniversary of the Paris massacre that was committed against the three Kurdish strugglers, "Sakine Cansız, Leyla Şeylemaz, and Fidan Doğan" by the Turkish MIT on the 9th of January, 2013, during a meeting.

The meeting, which was organized by the Kongra Star in Resho Hall located in al-Mushairfa neighborhood in the city of al-Hasakah, was attended by the member of the General Coordination of the Kongra  Star Peyman Afrin, representatives of women's organizations and movements, representatives of institutions and councils of the Autonomous Administration, in addition to hundreds of members of civil centers and institutions in the city.

The hall was decorated with pictures of the leader Abdullah Ocalan and pictures of the martyrs, in addition to lighting candles in tribute for the three strugglers.

The meeting began with the attendees holding a minute of silence, and then showing a short film recounting the life of the three strugglers and their struggle against fascism and injustice.

Then the member of the General Coordination of the Kongra Star Peyman Afrin gave a speech and recalled the three fighters, referring to their struggle in the face of oppressive policies against oppressed peoples, and said: "The struggle of the martyr Sakine Cansız was threatening the Turkish fascist policy that was built on injustice and tyranny, which led them to arrest her several times and put her in prison."

Peyman Afrin added that the assassination of the three female activists was a plot in an attempt to kill the will of the people in general and the free woman in particular.

Peyman explained that the Turkish state aims to break the resistance and the will of women. She said: "The martyrs who were killed in Paris and Slubee sacrificed their lives for the liberation struggle of the Kurdish people."

At the end of her speech, Peyman called on all the families, women's organizations, young women and the youth to perform their duties to confront all attacks that target the will of peoples and women in particular.

The meeting ended with chanting slogans that saluted the resistance of women, amid the mothers trills.
