'Young General' , Story of head of Turkish intelligence network in Ain Issa

A few days ago, the security services in the northeast regions of Syria arrested 28-people sleeper cell affiliated with the Turkish intelligence, operating in Ain Issa district of the Euphrates region.

In this file, we highlight the confessions of the intelligence network leader.

"Young General" is the codename for Muhammad Jasim Al-Hassoun by Turkish intelligence commanders, among his friends called "Abu Assaf".

The story of the Tukey's Syrian Young General started in Turkey with his family in late 2017, there he met Ali Muhammad al-Hamoud, nicknamed “Abu Haider al-Nuaimi” member in one of the Turkish mercenary groups.

'Trained at agents camps in Turkey'

The Young General says that Abu Haider al-Nuaimi suggested on him working for Turkish intelligence within the ranks of the so-called “Free Army,” and the General's hatred towards the Kurdish people and money pushed him to accept the job.

His family should not have been aware of the nature of his job, so Abu Haider Al-Nuaimi put together an elaborate plan to camouflage the "Young General."

The general was imprisoned, on the charge of being a former fighter in the SDF.

Accordingly, "Abu Assaf" had been imprisoned in Helwan Central Prison for 22 days, then released and met again with "Abu Haider Al-Nuaimi", who took him to the agent's camp.

The camp was in port of Mersin, near a fish market and a large park, where dozens of Syrians were in large halls, young men and women and elderly women from various Syrian regions, especially the cities of northern Syria.

Children and ISIS elements in the camp!

The mercenary stated that he often noticed a number of children at the camp in which they received training by the Turkish intelligence.

Later, he discovered that those homeless children of different ages between six and ten, were gathered by the Turkish intelligence to qualify them for tasks in the future.

Former ISIS elements in the courses that they underwent, caught his attention, some of them from the Selouk district affiliated with the occupied city of Girê Spî (Tal Abyad), and they still maintain the same hard-liner approach that ISIS mercenaries do.

The General says that when he mentioned "ISIS", the session officers asked him refer to them by the term "the Islamic State'' call themselves.

Moreover, the Turks used to say about ISIS, "our friends" or " brothers."

Several training stages in 3 months

According to Abu Assaf, the training at the agent camp lasted 86 days, in 3 phases.

"General Ali" was the Turkish intelligence officer overseeing the recruitment of Syrians. Abu Assaf says that he is from "Arabs of Urfa" of a Syrian mother. Next to him, there were leading Syrians in the ranks of mercenaries, such as Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Mustafa, nicknamed "Abu Shuja" and Mahmoud Al-Aqaba And Ahmed Al-Turki, who were among the leader in charge of the training.

"General Ali" named " Abu Assaf "the Young General", and promised him of a grand affair as a general, should his intelligence develop.

During the course, "Abu Assaf" and his companions received Kurdish and Turkish lessons, but he says that he could not master any of them.

Abu Assaf underwent the three stages, 15 people were in the first, in the second, 20 people, and in the last stage the number reached to 40 people.

In the first stage, he was taught how to define sites, take pictures and take the security measures.

In the second stage, he was taught how to work alone not in a group.

As for the third stage, and it was a stage in which all those enrolled for the session were gathered, and all were screened for the tasks.

Incitement against the Kurds!

Contrary to the perception of ISIS, the Turkish officers and the mercenary leaders were showing the Kurds as enemies of Arabs and Islam, and Turkey as protector of Muslims.

"Abu Assaf" says that those in charge of the course showed them an alleged picture, showing how fighters in the uniform of the Syrian Democratic Forces throw the flags of ISIS. They told the trainees how the Kurds are hostile to Islam in the form of ISIS's approach! For them, "ISIS is more merciful than the Kurds and the Kurds have no cause for us."

The course focused on an important aspect of befriending the leading figures, especially the Kurds.

'The start of field work'

The "Young General" finished the training course and received a sum of money. After about 4 months in Turkey, he came back to Syria, but under a different name and mission.

Turkish intelligence let him enter to Syria at early May of 2018, and the city of Girê Spî (Tal Abyad) was the first city in which he operated in.

In Girê Spi, he communicated the coordinates of the locations of military establishments, points, and information about people to Turkish intelligence.

Turkish intelligence had registered him officially within the so-called "Free Army", with a monthly salary that his family received in the city of Raha (anlıurfa) of 600 Turkish liras, equivalent to about $ 123 at the time.

They initially sent him 1,000 Turkish liras and 50,000 Syrian liras, from which he bought a phone with a Turkish line.

Saad Shwish Al-Bathawi, Abu Haider Al-Nuaimi and General Ali were in touch with "Abu Assaf", from time to time.

After the occupation of the city of Girê Spî (Tal Abyad) and its villages in late October 2019, “Abu Assaf” moved to Ain Issa, his intelligence mission there.

When the occupation was still advancing to the south, Abu Assaf infiltrated the occupied areas, and met Abu Haider al-Nuaimi and General Ali in the village of Khirbet al-Raz at Abu Haidar's house, his cousin, called “Abdel Nasser al-Nuaimi,” and discussed the next stages of the mission.

Abu Assaf says that “Abu Haidar” and “General Ali” asked him to develop his intelligence, and “shook the Kurds” in the coming stages, and there he was threatened by general Ali, who said “If you think about our betrayal, we will lose a shot.” speaking while holding a bullet in his hand.

"Abu Assaf" was asked to photograph the SDF forces' positions along the international road from Umm al-Barameel checkpoint to Ain Issa, in addition to all sites inside the district, including those of the Damascus government forces.

The second stage ... establishing an intelligence network!

After the coordination with the Turkish intelligence and mercenary leaders developed, the "General" moved to the stage of building an intelligence network.

Salah Hassan Abdullah, Rashid Hassan Sharif and Hassan Muhammad Abbou were the first to work with him, and Abu Assaf.

Later, this network expanded to include all those who were arrested by the security services weeks ago.

Emptying the fronts and burning agricultural crops!

The "General" mission was not limited to transmitting information, coordinates and pictures only, but his work went beyond that scope, as he sought to help the Turks empty the fronts of the fighters.

"I was inciting the SDF fighters to flee from the front," Abu Assaf said.

During the past summer, the contact lines with the Turkish occupation and its affiliated mercenaries witnessed major fires that engulfed large areas of the agricultural fields, the fires started from the areas under the Turkish occupation, or the mercenaries' firing shells and bullets caused the fires.

"Abu Assaf" says that they asked him to burn crops by incendiary bullets.

Explosions ... bringing the explosive devices from the occupied areas!

In Ain Issa, when the shells were falling on the villages and the outskirts of the district, the mercenaries used to communicate with him to ask about the locations of the shells, and whether they fell on the desired targets or not.

The Turkish intelligence directed "Abu Assaf" to carry out IEDs in Ain Issa.

At the time, other elements of the network continued to supply him with photos, websites, and information.

The "General" says that he carried out 3 explosions in Ain Issa, one of which targeted the Internal Security Forces checkpoint at the entrance to the district.

"Abu Assaf" was infiltrating the occupied areas to get explosive devices ready. He had two sites to sneak through, one near the al-Shirkrak silos, and the other in the village of Sakero on the international road east of Ain Issa.

The bombs he was getting were equipped with a digital counter, and other charges were equipped with remote detonators.

Sometimes, when he went to bring the explosive devices, "General Ali", "Saad Shwish Al-Bathawi" and "Turki Al-Assaf" would come to meet him.

Each individual was paid between $ 200 and $ 400 for each bombing attack.

The nature of work when the region is under Turkish attack!

Throughout the journey of the intelligence work, "Abu Assaf" and those with him were members of the network he managed, carrying phones equipped with programs that prevented the phones from being hacked or monitored.

The "General" says that the nature of their work when battles break out in the area will be striking the SDF points from the inside.

And the elements of the network that he manages, will join the ranks of the mercenaries as soon as they advance and occupy the area.
