​​​​​​​Afrin people: Şengal Agreement serves Turkish occupation's interest

On October 9th, the governments of Baghdad and Hewlêr announced that they had reached an agreement on the administration of Şhengal district, without regard to the wishes of the Yazidi people.

Rejecting positions emerged against this agreement by Yazidi people and the Kurdish people in Rojava.

Mostafa Nebbo, a member of the Yazidi community in Afrin canton and currently residing in al-Shahba canton, said: "Six years have passed since the Peshmerga and the Iraqi forces fled from Şengal and left the people alone to face ISIS terrorists who have mastered violations against them, such as killing, kidnapping, rape and selling them in the markets, and today, we see them holding agreements among themselves to extend their authority over Şhengal again. "

Mostafa Nebbo added: "This agreement contains a third hand alongside the governments of Baghdad and Hewlêr, and it is the hand of the Turkish occupation, and the goal of this agreement is to eliminate the Yazidi community in Şengal."

Mostafa Nebbo asserted: "What hurts the heart is the policy of the Kurdistan Democratic Party which claims to protect the Kurdish people from occupation, but what we see on the ground is far from its claim. It has been seeking for many years to erase our existence, and all this is in the interest of the Turkish occupation which seeks to remove the Kurdish people at the hands of the  Kurds. "

In the conclusion of his speech, Nebbo called on all Kurdish parties, headed by the Kurdistan Democratic Party, to unify their ranks, not to be drawn behind the interests of the Turkish occupation, and to adjust their path to get rid of injustice and tyranny.

As for the citizen Hanif Sido, he said: "The project of the democratic nation that the Yazidi people set as a system for themselves after the massacres committed by ISIS against them did not satisfy the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Turkish occupation, so they rushed to conclude an agreement on Şhengal aimed at breaking the resistance of the people of Şengal and placing them under their control."

Sido emphasized that the agreement does not represent the will of the Yazidi people, and that it will fail with the people's resistance.

As for the young man, Idris Mimeh, he stated that this agreement aims to expand the interests of the Turkish occupation in the region, stressing that they, as the youth of Afrin region, are fully prepared to support the Şhengal resistance against this agreement.
