Belgian delegation and Autonomous Administration officials meet

The statement of the deputy co-chair of the Foreign Relations Department in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Fener Al-Kait, came during a meeting of our agency on the sidelines of the meeting that brought together officials of the Autonomous Administration with a delegation from the Belgian government in Qamishlo, northeastern Syria.

The meeting brought the two parties together following the arrival of the Belgian delegation to the building of the External Relations Department of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria in the city of Qamishlo, after it arrived on Wednesday to the area through the Semalka border crossing.

This is the third visit of a Belgian government delegation to the regions of northern and eastern Syria, and the second this month, after a similar delegation had visited the area along with Belgian journalists on February 23 of this year.

The Belgian delegation consisted of the "Belgian Consul in Amman Cowen Steffenner, and the Joint Director of Consular Assistance, Johan Kasser."

The visiting delegation was received in the building of the External Relations Department in the Autonomous Administration, "the co-chair of the external relations department in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Abdul Karim Omar, his deputy, Fener Al-Kaait, Abeer Elia, the representative of the Autonomous Administration in Europe, Mazakin Ahmed, and the deputies co-chairs of the Women’s Commission, Avin Qafour, and Belqis Hamandi. "

As for the most important thing that the meeting dealt with, the deputy co-chair of the Foreign Relations Department in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria Fener Al-Kaait, indicated that the meeting came within the framework of the continuous visits of European delegations to the region, and to follow up the situation in the region and closely examine them.

Al-Kaait said, "We discussed several aspects, the most important of which is ways to solve the Syrian crisis, and the reality of the regions of northern and eastern Syria in terms of the difficulties they face and the risks they face, especially the ongoing Turkish attacks on our regions."

He added, "We showed the delegation the consequences of the ongoing Turkish attack and threat on the regions of northern and eastern Syria and its people, the situation of the camps, the reality of the detention camps for ISIS families, in addition to the health situation, and the reality of the region in terms of social, political and economic."

According to our correspondent, the visiting Belgian delegation took one of the children, aged 9 years and of Belgian origins, who were in Al Hol camp, and the meeting between the two parties ended with the delegation leaving the area towards the border crossing of Semalka.
