Basofan village of Yazidi exposed to heinous crimes 

The remaining civilians in the Yazidi village of Basofan, in the occupied Afrin, have been living for days in great danger, after Turkey's mercenaries imposed the siege on the village, and the start of kidnappings and killings against its people after they refused to convert to Islam.

On Tuesday, 25 Yazidi and Human Rights Organizations and Organizations released statement to public opinion and concerned parties, demanding them to help who remain in Yazidi village of Basofan from massacres which may commit against them by Feylaq al-Sham belongs to Turkish state.

The statement indicated that the process of displacing villagers of the Yazidi village of Basofan and changing its historical identity is proceeding according to a Turkish plan and with Syrian hands involved in crimes against humanity, which threatens the presence of the Yazidis forever.

The text of the statement read:

“Like Serêkaniyê, the Yazidis are exterminated in Afrin.

Atrocities of the Turkish occupation and its gangs" Syrian National Army" are still ongoing in committing heinous crimes in all areas were occupied in Syrian lands, seeking to make demographic change in the border areas by displacing of the indigenous people and settled hard- liners in their place, as what did in Afrin, where settled the displaced from Eastern Ghouta and various Syrian regions, after excluding thousands of the indigenous people under false pretexts.

Afrin city is being silently slaughtered under the eyes of the international community with its blessing by giving it the green light to launch "Olive Branch" campaign, resulted in the uprooting thousands of the olive trees whose age dating back to thousands of years BC!

What is happening in Basofan village is considered massacres against them, which amount to the rank of ethnic cleansing and genocide, so we appeal to all human rights organizations and the countries concerned, especially US, the Russian Federation, the European Union and the United Nations to undertake take its duty to put an end to these criminal policies against humanity, unquestionably, the international community is partner in these crimes represented by its immoral political with the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, demanded to protect the remaining in Basofan village from committing massacre against them by Felyaq al-Sham under the banner Syrian National Army, which receives its orders from Turkish occupation, and put pressure on Turkey to end its occupation of Syrian lands for the return of the displaced to their homes under international supervision and guarantees.

The process of displacing the inhabitants of the Yazidi village of Basofan and changing its historical identity is proceeding according to a Turkish plan, and with Syrian hands involved in crimes against humanity, which threatens the presence of the Yazidis in it forever, as evidenced by the fact that the number of the village’s population was more than 3,500 people before the Turkish occupation, and it has decreased. After the occupation of less than 200 people, as the mercenaries seek to force them also to leave the village, to complete the demographic change that they are planning, and to implement their plan, they implement severe siege on the village and carry out continuous campaigns to arrest the residents of the village.

They were immediately transferred to Iskan village prison in the same area, and the gunmen were forced to release Sheikho Ibrahim (59, years old) as a result of his deteriorating health condition as a result of the severity of torture.  they were also forced to release the citizen, Dilberin Arabo, hours after his abduction, due to severe bleeding as a result of the severe beating he was subjected to.

It is noteworthy that the citizen Dilberin, whose wounds were not healed, had been subjected to an attempted murder previously, by the gunmen of Felyaq al-Sham on 03/30/2020, and he was wounded at the time by two bullets in the abdomen. The militants prevented him to be hospitalized in Afrin, due to his refusal to evacuate his home in Basofan village in Sherawa district, in favor of a commander of the faction.

The storming of the village came by the militants of the Islamic Sham Legion" Felyaq al-Sham, due to the residents' lack of response to embracing the Islamic religion. In the context of revenge against the people, the faction's militants carry out a campaign of arrests targeting the Yazidi people from time to time, to force them to leave the village, and all these violations are documented by us with names, dates and pictures.
