The Turkish authorities' arbitrary measures against political detainees continue under the pretext of preventing the Coronavirus.

For protesting the isolation on the leader Abdullah Ocalan and the policies of the Turkish authorities, the political detainees announced a hunger strike on November 27 and hundreds of detainees joined it.

Abd al-Rahman Hassan, 67, father of Idris Hassan (Saleh Kendal, 50), praised the campaign launched by the detainees.

Kendal was arrested in Amed, Bakûr (Kurd-inhabited territories of souteast Turkey) since 1996, by the Turkish authorities, and was transferred to the Albistan prison in Turkey. He is also one of the hunger strikers in Turkish prisons.

Hassan indicated that Turkey measures are not to curb the Coronavirus, but rather as a suffocation and isolation of detainees from the society, He said: “Turkey wants to silence the detainees under the pretext of curbing the Coronavirus, and this is not a solution, we reject it. "

Hassan appealed to the humanitarian and human rights organizations the need to take serious positions regarding the detainees, and continued: “The procedures of the Turkish authorities are unacceptable.” Its strength is to obliterate and rob the identity and rights of the Kurds and break their will.

Hassan called on the people to support the militants "by organizing events for the detainees who are resisting to obtain their rights and the rights of their people, and the resistance in the face of the enemy."

In turn, Faisal Khalil, the father of the 30-year-old detainee, Alaa Khalil, who was arrested by the Turkish authorities five years ago, aired his rejection of the Turkish authorities' policy against political detainees.

Khalil stressed the need for Kurdish people to support the resisting detainees, and said: "The people must add their voice to the detainees' voice and organize activities against the Turkish enemy to release them."
