Belgian delegation affirms its country's continued support for AA regions

This afternoon, a delegation from the Belgian Federal Parliament, accompanied by representatives of some Belgian civil society institutions, arrived at the building of the External Relations Department of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria in the city of Qamishlo, which is the second visit of its kind to the regions of north and east Syria during the year.

The visiting delegation included: "Members of the Belgian Federal Parliament, George Dalmani and Quinn Mesto, Director of the International Association of Terrorism Victims Philip Vanstetkiste, Member of the Association Rudy Melek, and the Executive Chairman of Child Focus for Support and Prevention of Missing, Abducted and Sexually Exploited Children Heidi de Paolo."

The delegation was received in the building of the External Relations Department by "Abdel Karim Omar, the Co-chair of the External Relations Department in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, his Deputy Fener Kaait, and the Representative of the Autonomous Administration in Europe, Mezagin Ahmed."

During the meeting and the visit, a meeting was held closed to media outlets, which lasted for an hour and a half, and after the meeting, members of the Belgian Federal Parliament George Dalmani and Quinn Mesto spoke to the media outlets about the most important thing that took place in the meeting between the two parties.

They said: "We talked about the joint efforts made to help the region against ISIS and its cells, and about its continued contribution to the international coalition in which it participates through the air. We also talked about the efforts of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Autonomous Administration to limit the danger of ISIS."

They added: "We also talked about the danger of the Turkish threats to the region, and the danger Turkey poses to different regions of the world through its policies, as well as talking about the issue of victims of terrorism and how to help the region in this regard, how to provide assistance to victims of terrorism, the file of ISIS members detained by SDF and their danger, as well as their families who are in the camps here, and ways to work together to resolve this file."

At the end of the discussion about the circumstances of the meeting, they stressed to transfer of the view of the region and the Autonomous Administration to the European world, help the region, and not being satisfied with only pledges and promises.
