Pompeo begins his tour from Paris

Pompeo announced today the start of his international tour to several countries, namely: “France, Turkey, Georgia, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates and Qatar,” and confirmed during a tweet on “Twitter” that he would start his tour from Paris, and according to American officials, the tour will take 10 days, and he is scheduled to meet Senior leaders in its seven stations.

Pompeo will discuss "important issues", foremost among which is the fight against terrorism, Iran's destabilizing activities in the region, as well as religious freedoms.

And Bloomberg Agency reported earlier that Pompeo would not meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan or other members of his government during his visit to Turkey, which Turkish officials considered an insult.

And the US State Department confirmed in a statement last Tuesday that Pompeo would travel to Istanbul to meet the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, the spiritual leader of the Orthodox Christians in the world, and the statement said that the chief US diplomat intends to discuss religious issues in Turkey.
