Swede delegate meets Foreign Relations Department of AA

A meeting was held between the Foreign Relations Department in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), and a delegate from Sweden's Foreign Ministry within a series of meetings that the visiting delegate is scheduled to hold.

Today at noon, a high ranking delegate from Sweden's Foreign Ministry arrived to northeastern Syria via the Semalka crossing point, in a bid to meet political and military officials in the region. It has visited  the Foreign Relation Department in the AANES, and met with the Co-Chair Abdul Kareem Omar.

The swede delegate includes the Special Envoy of the Syrian Crisis in the Foreign Ministry Piere Ornious, head of the Humanitarian File and Aides in the Foreign Ministry Tomas Marcus, and counselor in the European Institute for Peace, Avin Jetin. 

The delegate was received by the Co-Chair of the Foreign Relations Department in the AANES Abdul Kareem Omar, the Co-Chairmanship's Deputies Abir Ilya and Fener al-Gaeet, The Administration Body's Members Sanaa Dehham and Abdul Rahman Suleiman, and the AA's Representative in the Scandinavian Counties Shyar Ali.

After welcome exchanged, the two parties held a closed meeting to the media outlets. In addition, a press conference will be held for the media outlets on the conclusions reached by the two parties in the meeting, and to reveal the visiting delegation's program.

This is considered the second high-level visit of its kind to the regions of north and east Syria, after a similar Swede delegation visited the regions of north and east Syria last year 2019.
