Mourners: Shaha's struggle is immortal

Hundreds of mourners went to Derik Hospital to pay a final farewell look at the body of the martyr Shaha Hussein, the nom de guerre Shaha Derik, who martyred of a terminal illness after more than three decades of struggle within the ranks of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement.

The funeral procession headed towards the shrine of the martyr Khabat Derik.

 The ceremony began with a minute of silence, followed by the speech of the member of the coordinator of the Kongra Star Haifa Arabo , who addressed condolences to the martyr’s family and the Kurdistan Freedom Movement.

Arabo added, "The martyr fought for three decades within the KLM, and left a legacy of struggle for the sake of her people, especially the woman."

The Co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of Afrin, Shiraz Hamo, delivered a speech in which she said: “The martyr Shaha left an imprint on the peoples of NE Syria, especially the people of Afrin and al-Shahba, who clung to her struggle spirit.”

Hamo continued, "The martyr Shaha began her heroic career with a spirit of responsibility at the beginning of her life, and fought with the spirit of the pioneering woman, and bid farewell to her struggle with the rank of martyrdom."

Message of condolences were also read from the Council of Martyrs' Families in the Martyr Rustam Jodi camp. The letter stated that "Every immigrant child in the Martyr Rustam camp learned his mother tongue thanks to the martyr, until they became fighters and attained the status of martyrdom."

The residents of Rustam Judi camp also pledged through their message, "The martyr Shaha, that her struggle and heroic career will remain alive through the joining of dozens of young women to the ranks of the Kurdistan Liberation Movement."

After the words, I read the document of the martyr Shaha Hussein and delivered it to her family, who in turn pledged to follow the footsteps of the martyr Shaha until the realization of her dream for which she was martyred.

Amidst the chants of mothers and slogans saluting the resistance of the martyrs, the dead body of the martyr Shaha was carried on the shoulders to be brought to her final resting place.
